They don't play through the speakers. Skip to 8:50.. or watch the whole thing if you want There is a "sound tube" branching off of the intake that pipes in just through the firewall. It's hardly noticeable unless you remove a couple foam filters out of it. I tried that on my car. It's gay and fake, but I think it sounds cool. /shrug ^Bingo. It's hardly noticeable, easy to remove, and channels the natural sound of the engine to you. The Ecoboost is trying "mask" the engine sound with fake sounds that can't be turned off, they should at least have the option to switch it off. A cold air intake and blow-off valve will sound quite good on an Ecoboost. A hack is in the works to turn off the stupid sound effects.
