NWill
Woodcraft for sure, I'd call Woodwerks. Pretty sure they do. They also have big ON/OFF switches for $25. They are nice for router tables. Then put a splitter on the cord and run one to shop vac, one to router.
NWill
I'd trim the edges with some 1/2 x 2 strips. You can get them in various sizes at lowes in oak, poplar, etc.
jeffro
You guys tired of me yet? Welp, got the rest of the router table put together. All in all, pretty happy with the way things came out. Its heavier than fuck, so i am going to need to make some sort of rolling base for it. Or handles at the very minimum. Finshed product: http://i.imgur.com/SMQPKc5.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Nz6NXSK.jpg http://i.imgur.com/yixbMsx.jpg Side note. I picked up one of those link belts for the table saw from HF yesterday. WOW. smooth as silk. Even a new rubber belt from autozone wasnt as smooth as this thing. Might do a review on it just because i'm so impressed with it. jeffro
Are their prices fair? Or do they charge an arm and a leg because theyre a specialty store?
NWill
It depends what you're looking for. Yeah, if you go look at the Festool line or a new 5hp Cabinet saw, it's expensive. But it's on par with everyone else. They don't really sell any cheap brands there so don't expect HF prices on anything. However, their "Boardroom" can't be beat in my opinion. They have a ton of various cutoffs by the pound. A $5 piece of wenge or bocote there would be $30 at Woodcraft. They do have all kinds of cheaper stuff that you never knew existed/you need. That goes for Woodcraft as well. Go check one out sometime. I know both stores by heart and still spend 30 minutes minimum every time I go to one

NWill
P.S. anyone need anything welded for cheap? Like bring me a beer for consumables cheap? I have a few bigger projects in mind but don't have the time currently. I got the welder out the other day to repair a boat and now I have the itch to weld something. I'm still getting my chops back after a 7 year hiatus but hey, it's basically free

jeffro
Spent most of the day in the shop. Fuck i am addicted... Built some retractable casters form the table saw. Built a wine bottle bird feeder, and then made a rolling stand thing for the router. What happens when i run out of things to make?

RedRocket1647545505
Looking for opinions on a new (first) table saw. I recently bought a new house and have a million projects in mind for it, so I've decided I need a table saw to compliment my new Bosch miter saw. I'm considering three particular saws and wanted to see what the masses think. Anyone who knows me, knows I tend to go overkill when buying anything, and this is no different. I figure go bigger than I need and I can grow into it. In reality, I could probably make do with a cheaper jobsite saw. In actuality, I'll end up with a contractor/hybrid saw. The saws I'm considering: Delta 36-5152 (52") -pros: 3.5" cut depth (really like the idea of being able to cut 4" dimensional lumber in one pass. Can be wired for 110 or 220v Cheapest of the three options Biesemyer fence -cons: I'm not sure Delta is the same brand it used to be. Are they still quality? Lightest of the three. Not sure how I feel about the tubular base. JET ProShop (52") -pros: Carries the JET name which is supposedly known for quality Heavier than the Delta I like the large STOP button... Integrated arbor lock button Cons: Apparently the arbor lock button jams up with saw dust $300 more than the 52" Delta (I might opt for the 30" instead to save a little. Do I really need a 52" fence system?) 3 1/8" max cut depth Appears to be 110v only Can't seem to figure out what makes it so much better? Laguna Fusion -pros: Supposed to be a very well made saw Base fence is 36" (more than the JET) and is Upgradable to 52" if you choose at a later time. Heaviest of the three saws I believe it can be wired for 110 or 220v It just looks cool... Cons: 2nd most expensive 3 1/4" max cut depth 36" model is $100 more than 52" Delta. Fence Upgrade kit is $250. I been leaning toward the Delta the most with the Laguna a very close second. Reading the reviews on the Delta on Lowes/Home Depots site make it sound like an awesome saw, however, reviews on woodworking sites seem to be the exact opposite. What are CR's thoughts on all this?
