I've seen a few people here into woodworking. Show us some projects.

Here's a sideboard I threw together a couple weeks ago, just some 2x

Here's a random wine bottle holder I made screwing around with some scrap

When I was making the walnut holders above, I wanted some better turning tools. Here are a couple I made next to a store bought one.

I was going to make a locking liquor display box for a gift exchange last Christmas. I ran out of time and did something else. I didn't get past the trial run.

Music box I made for my future niece. Her middle name is Rose. It was a little rushed but meh, first attempt at chip carving and made with limited scraps at the time. I mainly don't like all the random species thrown together, not bookmatched, etc.

Thanks! I used to play around with my dad's tools when I was younger and always enjoyed it. Then again in high school. After that it was more my Supra but now that I have a garage again I've been filling it with wood tools. My biggest issue is I enjoy metal work, too. Not many of the big tools can be used for both. Different lathes, etc. I'm out of room.

Would anyone here pay $155 for this? Would you rather pay $80 or so and have it shipped to you flat pack style? Everything cut to size, you just assemble with the supplied screws and finish yourself? I'd like to start an Etsy page at some point just for shits, just curious.

It seems there is a huge DIY craze lately and people would rather have a hand in things.

I just built that same coffee table for $21 for reference.

Honestly, You arent out anything just starting the Etsy page.. I would go ahead and do it.

Worst case scenario nothing sells. Just make sure it looks clean.

You could always put it up both ways and see what sells. (Your going to make only to order anyways.. )

I started a page a year ago or so, just never finished it. I'm trying to figure out what sells best and what to make for it. I'm not very good creatively, but give me a picture and I'll duplicate it for less!

Every time I think I have an original idea I look on etsy and there are 387 variations.

Thanks ya'll. The skills are the easy part. Like many hobbies, it's all the various tools you "need." Like the plasma cutter I decided to order at 2am this morning? Not that you need a plasma for wood work but I like to use metal in projects as well.

Closest thing to working with wood I have done is architecture models in college.

This one was a final that took a good number of weeks. The laser cutter made the intricacy possible lol. 18 story building in Pittsburgh

That's awesome. I'd like to build a CNC router at some point but that's low on the wishlist for the cost.
