Maybe wal-mart should just go into the guns & ammo business where sales are breaking records
OJdidit1738
I have never traded but have always been very interested in the stock market. Buying some stocks in oil when it hits such a low seems to be a smart plan because at some point it will go back up. Not sure how to even begin, is there an actual helpful online course in buying stocks (not some bs get rich quick class)? Thanks for the advice

Laying off 16,000 people. Guys, if you need a Main Street-signal that corporate America is worried, there's your sign. Wal Mart has been having issues dating back to 2014. It also looks like ~100 of the US closings will be the convenience store model they tried. Oh, its also not a surprise
LJ
..Wal-Mart said Friday it will close 269 stores across the globe, including 154 in the U.S. The world's largest retailer also will open as many as 405 stores globally in the coming fiscal year, as it shifts its focus toward Supercenters and Neighborhood Markets in profitable locations. In all, 16,000 employees will be impacted by the store closings, about 10,000 of whom are in the U.S. What's Wal-Mart's stock doing now? Click here. The domestic store closures will mostly impact the company's Walmart Express stores, which account for 102 of the closings. These small stores, which are comparable in size to a dollar store, had been in pilot since 2011. They were rebranded as Neighborhood Market in 2014. Im not sure that adding a net 136 stores is a "signal that corporate main street is worried"

LPFSTheFett
Being that I don't plan to retire for 25 years, I don't really care what the markets do. If they go down, I'll just be investing at a lower price point. The only long term concern I have is this country's ever growing national debt. Eventually that's going to burn everybody. Part two of that is I have a strong belief the country will take control of everybody's private 401k/IRA accounts to not only make up that deficit but the Social security deficit. Littleguy
I have made a hobby of collecting junk silver for years, have a couple of shoe boxes full by now. Not sure what I will ever do with it, probably just save it for use as currency after the zombie apocalypse.

He lives near the USA's first gold mine "Reed Gold Mine". He gets gold flakes all the time and has saved up thousands of dollars worth even at todays prices. Dr. Apex
I did... *Shrugs* I've been waiting for another 09' to get in like my landlord did, he bought when the market crashed and is now $40k in positive equity(maybe more) on his place. The market has been too high for my taste, a few deals here and there but nothing I've wanted to jump on at all.

Supplicium
28 HANDLE ON OIL! The barrel the oil is stored in now costs more than the oil itself. Also 60 times the cost of a barrel of Perrier sparkling water
LPFSTheFett
I know it may seem unrealistic now that they steal our retirements. But you really have to look at the socialist shift this country is taking. Sanders is a self proclaimed socialist. Something like 30% of the public views themselves the same way. In addition, if they do it, who are they going to piss off? The people that don't vote for them anyway.
Zx2guy19
I made a ton of equity in rentals by buying in a down market. They're all worth nearly double what I paid lol. Bring it on, I've been waiting to grab another...or 10.
