Quick question. Fiance's work laptop sucks it's like a 8 year old HP. The display is way to small for the work she does. Whats the most affordable way we can get a second monitor to work off of her Laptop. We would like it to work as a second separate screen not a mirrored screen. Her laptop does not have HDMI or DVI, just USB's. Looks like there is some cords out there that work from USB to HDMI but is that all we need!?

It's windows 7 if that matters. I have a monitor already that can accept HDMI or DVI.

Model says it sports a display port. Get a display port to DVI adaptor and connect to your 24 inch ASUS monitor.

Also the speed issue would be almost eliminated with something like the Samsung 250 Gig EVO SSD (about $120). This would bring this thing back to life for sure..
