CR Detailers

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, a couple quick questions for the group. Today we looked at purchasing a new to us daily driver. The car is very clean for what it is, however it looks like the paint hasn't been loved over the years. My question is this, what are the chances i could bring the paint back to life? I don't have pictures at this time, but its a white vehicle with what feels like little to no clear left in spots (hood, roof, top of doors). Literally almost feels like running your hand over your homes interior walls. Second question, I don't see myself having the time to do this before winter so what does a full detail cost now days? I know Andy isn't detailing anymore, so who is our new resident detailer?

Thanks,

Tom

I'd ping Tim he really knows his stuff. Not sure he's officially detailing but never hurts to ask.

Tough to tel without at least pictures how much it can be saved. What kind of car is it are you sure it's really cleared or is it single stage that's oxidizing. You'd be amazed how recently JDM white and red cars were still single stage.

What would the average price of that run? I need to get a polish and coating on the GS before winter and I'm much to lazy to do it myself.

depends on condition its currently in, but between $250 - $400 obviously $400 would be on the high end, and needing a lot of correction.

Thanks for the replies guys, down payment made, and we should have it by this weekend. It's a 2006 Honda Pilot in Taffeta White. I'm still on the fence tackling the full detail by myself, or having someone do it. Some pages say everything must done by hand, others say either way is fine.

What is the go to brand now days for clay, polish, wax etc...

Tim-I received your PM, once I get it home I will let you know.

Hoblick-can you pm me a give or take quote without seeing the vehicle? If not I understand.

Thanks Everyone,

Tom

I'd like to get my wife's Escalade detailed (inside and out). Detailers, if interested, please PM me - and provide a ballpark quote if you're able, whether you can come to the car or I need to bring it to you, and any other relevant information I'll need to consider.

PM's sent to all.

I'm officially into the mix as a CR Detailer. Sponsorship fees have been paid as of today and I'll be putting forth more information to all shortly. I also hope to be adding more services shortly.

This is not my full-time gig, thus like Andy, I work around your schedule and mine but am very flexible. Currently I'm doing work at my home and hope to be mobile by spring. I do have the ability to detail during the winter as well so let's not let the cold weather hold anyone back.

Thanks to all those that have contacted me and continued thanks to Anthony, Tina, Mitch and others who have helped foster a great community here.

Just FYI, I have yet to receive a PM about this. I will try to act like I am not offended gravely.

What's the debt of your detailing?

What kind of coatings do you use? Carnauba? Sealants like CQuartz, etc?

Do you do exterior primarily or interior as well?

Zero debt :)

Depth of detailing....I will email you a listing and description of the four packages. Everything from Basic wash with decontamination and sealing to full-on paint correction to the level of the customers needs.

Coating wise, I use McKee's 37 and Pinnacle Coatings. Sealants I have a number of them. Menzerna Powerlock, Blackfire Products including their Montain 'nauba, the Trio of Collinite hybrids, HD Products, and others.

Currently I'm focusing on exteriors. I can do interiors but I currently do not have a steam extractor so really trashed vehicles are going to have to wait until next spring. Light to Moderate Interiors are good to go.
