Just bought a boat....may be a barge

Feeling kinda lazy, this morning I took the barge thru Sax car wash on 5th ave. There were 5-6 older gentlemen standing and staring at my car being wipe down. When the attendant finish I stepped up to claim the car all the old guys dropped their jaws. One guy asked what year and they can't believe it's a 1980.

Also got some free time around lunch so I peeled the nasty tint on the four windows. They were put on to stay. Still have the rear windshield, I'll tackle that tomorrow.

I peeled the back window tint off today, it was the easiest one ever, hardly any residual left. A quick windex wipe and I was done.

I also peeled the sheep skin seat covers off too. Only one 2" tear in the driver bottom cushion. Hate to say this, but I missed the seat covers. Washing them right now, hopefully I don't ruin them.

Gentle cycle, warm water. Air dry. DO NOT put them in the dryer if they are real sheepskin. I hand washed mine for the first couple of times.

My mother, as a Christmas gift, bought be a set of nice, fitted, sheep skin covers for the '67 GTO in 1997 (not cheap universal autozone ones - ones actually made for my car). I think at the time I was a really ungrateful prick because I said "what do I look like? a degenerate old man hanging out at the OTB at noon on a Tuesday?".

That summer however, when I was driving the car every day from Long Island to Queens, Brooklyn, and sometimes Manhattan for work, (with the heat on because it tended to overheat if it was hotter than 75 degrees outside) it was so nice to get out of that car and not look like I fell backwards into a 3" deep swiming pool because my back and ass were so soaked in sweat. Now I don't care how they look, they are still on the car and I love them.

Today someone already offered me what I paid for the car and I get to keep the wheels. Hmmm, may be .......
