zeitgeist57
I'm staring at that smokestack, thinking that place is around the old Union Tool and Die plant on the westside of Nationwide Arena area??? That looks like a cool place to have my Lincoln shot!

zeitgeist57
There used to be some even cooler buildings around that area, but when Columbus was looking into hosting the site of the casino there... http://www.10tv.com/article/columbus-casinos-owners-complete-purchase-arena-district-land The old Jaeger Machine Works and Union Tool and Die buildings had been vacant for years, but I knew a couple of car/photo guys that would use them whenever they could. There were old control panels and equipment that sat unused...just a neat relic to the old manufacturing industry that used to reside in Columbus. They were leveled just after the Recession, when Ohio legislature thought casino revenue would solve the state's income needs. While cool-looking, the buildings were more liabilities than anything. Still...sad to see evidence of our history erased forever. Get more pics in that building while you can.

I would love to explore the insides of the old buildings they seem to be either working on or getting ready to tear down. however I'm not so sure i would like a trespassing on my record. but then again sometimes having a camera in hand allows you get get away with more stuff.
