So its been a long while since ive updated things and to be honest its really been at a stand still since it went to the body guy. Yea ive been collecting parts but no car for months has been dampening things.

Anyway marathon over the weekend and got a good bit painted. front and rear bumpers and spoilers need fit up and painted then we are planning to wet sand and two more coats of clear.

Reguardless here are a few teaser shots. Color is exactly what I was wanting. Ended up being a candy quad coat finish so far at 7 different layers.

Thanks guys! This color really is perfect for what I wanted. I always said I want something dark in the shade but suns out guns out.

Its going to be a bit before I can get to cars and coffee but the current plan this weekend is going to prep and fit the bumpers then paint, block wet sand the entire car, tape and 2 more layers of clear and possibly another wet sand and then buff.

on a side note, anyone have any ideas where to get sheets of HDPE or UHMW?

LOL...this would be a perfect sticker for one of the windows.

Also, perfect description on the "Dark but SOGO"...I love it too. Really deep, dark color base with ridic flake are what's up.

Take your time on this build to get it right, based on your plans and budget...no need to rush anything. This thing is going to be a stunner when it's done.

So go figure, I have the car back in my possession but I am still waiting on bumpers, a door and few other odds and ends back. Because of that I haven't had much ive wanted to do since its not going to get completed.

I did do some things though. The brakes on the car have always been kinda crap. Just over all pretty soft and I had it. Toyota is now producing MK4 supra parts now and with that means they are producing TT calipers again. I ended up getting a complete set front and rear to swap out. The front calipers are pretty easy to do the swap, just need the caliper adapters and TT rotors and all done. Rears since the JZX rear rotor is JZX specific I decided to do the swap so I can use USA sourced parts. The problem is the drum part on the supra TT calipers are much larger and the stock JZX shoes cannot be used. Thankfully Project Mu has a conversion pad so I got that.

After that I was able to install my new IC7 Display which was more of a pain in the ass as I had to re wire everything I did for the other dash but it was so worth it.

I ended up picking up a TRD strut tower bar for my car and it was in really rough shape. I ended up also modifying it with a brake master cylinder brace.

Next up was hood pins. Since I had a fiberglass hood I don't feel comfortable using the stock latch as there are a lot of times Ive seen where the hood just flies up which came down to what I wanted to do. Traditionally ive used aerocatches so I went that route but I also purchased some of the 35mm quicklatch pins as well and had them painted to match the body. I ended up opting for the quicklatch.

Next up was mounting of the side skirts, I knew these hung low so I needed to be able to remove them easily and quickly. I figured I could use quick latch and come up with a mounting solution and this is what I ended up doing.Works really well and comes off with the press of two buttons.

After mounting the bumper I found out the exhaust was pretty sunk in so I extended it out about 3"

Now that most of the body work was done I ended up prepping the paint for ceramic coat. Big thanks to Tim for assisting me in the process as it made difference. Doesent help the first wash I some how scratched the shit out of the paint even doing two bucket method, brand new sheap skin mitt and what not. Anyway car got buffed with a black finishing pad and Carpro essence+ then followed up with two coats of Cquarts UK 3.0 and a layer of reload.

I also made some HDPE splitters for the car on the front, rear and skirts. Rear is flush, skirts are just straight to add a bit more to the flare and the front comes out about 3/4 inch and tapers on the side.
