So Scott picked up a really nice daily for his wife and wanted to give it a full coating protection so that maintenance on it day-forward would be much easier and that any road trips it heads out on will make clean up of bugs and debris a snap.

The vehicle has 6k miles on it but it was still in like brand new condition with near zero marring so we decided on the New Car Prep package with CarPro Cquartz UK v3.0 (brand new release) as the solution. The vehicle has loads of plastic trim protecting the lower rockers and wheel wells so we also decided on the SiO2 Trim Coating there too. This will ensure it stays as dark as shown here for quite a while, that it will shed dirt very easily and of course be protected from all the much that typically layers on top of it.

It's a medium dark grey metallic with a hint of a purple tone to the flake. It's often hard to show how well certain colors turn out, especially greys or silvers but this one comes through quite nicely I think.

Thanks again for trusting me with your new ride Scott! You'll love the hydrophobic/self cleaning properties of this coating.

Late to the party, but thanks again Tim! The car looks awesome, wife loves it, and even her friends who don't give a damn about cars noticed how great it turned out.

She drove it home in a downpour tonight and it still very much looks freshly detailed.

I will be interested to see how some of Tim's DD jobs hold up over the next several months.

Everything wears out and needs to be reapplied at some point, but the products/techniques Tim uses are pretty amazing.

Thanks Clay. These new products I have been adding really are outstanding. What I have seen lately outside advancements in the carrier solvents used in the coatings thus making them easier to apply, is the technology around their contact angles. Seeing drops of water standing at attention ready to fly off paint with the slightest breeze is pretty cool.

Longevity how they hold up can be subject to how the vehicle is cared for an what it's exposed to. I've created a post on the subject as it's a great topic and one that gets discussed a lot on various forums.
