v65rider
Hey guys I am working on a 79 Yamaha XS750 3 cylinder. I have taken the carbs apart and cleaned them very well and have them reinstalled. Now when I start the bike it sounds and feels like the bike is at wide open throttle. I pulled the carbs atain and the throttle plates are closed any ideas on what could be causing this?
Likwid
Double throttle cable or single? If it's push/pull or pull/pull or something that could be the issue.Could the idle adjustment got set/messed?Does it redline or just sound like it's running real fast?Does it get better as bike warms up or did you shut it off immediately? dustinsn3485
My first thought is an air leak somewhere. Does it have choke plates or an enrichener circuit?
ReconRat
Throttle cables and/or throttle slides. Something is hung up somewhere. It doesn't take much.
v65rider
It is a single cable system and I checked the choke/ enricher and it seems to be operating correctly. It is pretty much a single rod that runs accross the three carbs. I have checked the idle knob and have it backed all the way off.I will check for air leaks but it would seem like it would take a heck of a lot of air to get it to do what it is.
