jporter12
I just pulled my son out of little league because I found out they all get trophies just for playing. I think it's a dangerous practice to teach children that they are all equal.Good! Glad to hear that one!Ok, I can kinda back you on that one, but...I hope you're not serious there. Or if you are, you've found a different league for him to play in. Granted, I'm not a father or anything, but it's not fair to rob your child of the experience because of political views - IMHO, of course.I think it's more dangerous for them to be involved in that sort of environment than to learn that you WILL NOT always win. I agree with getting into a different league or something, but if none are around, I'd rather not see them in it at all.
Disclaimer
Depending on age... kids don't care about the trophies or winning or losing anyway (if they're young enough). I'd say about 8-9yrs old is when you probably need to start weening the "participation" awards away, but under that - they're learning the sports, being active, and just having a good time. I wouldn't deprive them of that. But, I disagree that nothing is better than "socialized little league".

fusion
Then there's Cricket, that's like imitation I Can't Believe It's Not Butter. It goes Cricket > Rounders > Baseball. Which is probably the same order they were created. Rounders was girls school cricket and baseball is rounders for dumb Americans.

ReconRat
It's called reward for failure.Goes with recognition for nothing. There's a lot of that going around.Sort of like the trend of getting a certificate of training for a 2 hour class about nothing. The world is going nuts and I don't want to go with them.luckily this sort of behavior is typically prone to failure...Oops, there's a reward for that... I believe that vaginal citizens will also suffice.Vagina Weilding citizens is also acceptable seeing as though many women use that isht as a weapon in their quest for domination. Disclaimer
http://jalopnik.com/5431328/dallas-shop-offers-free-nobel-peace-prize-with-oil-changeTheNobel Commission and President Obama received plenty of guff over thisyear's Nobel Peace Prize. One Dallas-area service shop decided to havesome fun with it, offering one free Nobel Peace Prize with each oil change. Each customer who gets an oil changeat Ken Sterling's Horizon Auto Center in Rockwall will receive acertificate containing a Nobel Peace Prize sticker and reading"Conferred for the effort and peaceful intention of getting the oil andfilter changed." The marketing gimmick was intended as joke and notnecessarily intended to be partisan, though conservativesunsurprisingly think it's hilarious. We think above all it's clever local marketing and an easy draw for overwhelmingly conservative Rockwall County. [Dallas News]
