Some of you younger riders may not think we know how to party or enjoy music but before you were born we were listening to and going to Bogarts( Cincinnati) to hear these local bands...when smoking was allowed inside and you could have some fun,no two beer limit...:DWe rode hard back then and still do..we just don't heal that well any more...new music to some and memories to others like my self....local bands...

Did you rock out uphill, both ways, in 2' of snow, with plastic bags over your shoes?

No but I did walk up hill both ways to school in the snow after milking the cows and doing my paper route and almost forgot feeding the pigs:D

(the plastic bread bags go inside your shoes over your socks)

I lived in Columbus in the 1970's and was a Godz fan...

as all high school kids were back then:D

The Godz Are Rock'nRoll Machines!!!

Oh man, if you had an Olds 442, a Godz album, some Strawberry Hill's Boone's Farm for your date, you were gettin laid.

Ugh, just dated myself.

Since we're showin our ages here and talkin old bands, do any of you remember the local band

Fayrewhether out of the Cleveland area?

I was a huge follower of theirs and actually know the lead singer (Paul Fayrewhether) personally,

we are both from Lorain and I have drank many beers with him!

There are actually photos on their website that I took at the Alrosa during that same time period (86-88).

I moved out of Ohio in '83, so I don't really recall Fayrewhether. Lots of bands like that though - good enough musicians but never really got past regional fame.

Fayrewheter had a very large following here in Columbus as well as Cleveland, they developed a "cult like" following of fans

and were know best for their "theatrical performances" doing covers of Genesis, The Tubes and Jethro Tull as well as their own stuff. Ahh, bringin back the memories.

Seeing them do "Abacab" and "White Punks on Dope" was not soon forgoten!

Is this like the old bull and the young bull story?

But seriously, central Ohio has always had a great local band scene. I have seen quite a few that have should've made it big, that have more talent than some of the one's that have made it big.

I have a friend that has been in a few local bands, and he has recorded quite a few local bands in his studio, one of which is getting national (top 40 station) airplay, and is on MTV from time to time.
