Anyone have an Acetylene Torch?

I need to heat the lift pin on my headstand and hammer it over about 20°.

A map gas torch will do that. They can be picked up for 20 -30 bucks and handy to have around. Ive got one if you want to drive out here but the gas money youd spend would pay for the map torch.

Thanks Todd, yea the gas would kill the deal. Map doesn't get any hotter than propane. Still looking for acetylene.

Mapp is hotter

Mapp gas produces a flame temperature of 5301° F (2927° C) and 2405 Btus.

The maximum adiabatic flame temperature a propane torch can achieve with air is 2268 kelvins (1995 °C/3623 °F)

I just have a propane one. Haven't gotten around to switching to MAPP because we have an oxy/acetylene torch at the shop. It's not mine or else I'd let you use it.

Yes, map gas gets much hotter than propane that why use a map torch instead. A map torch will take care of that pin for you.

There's no clearance between the front nose and fender for a steering-head stand to get in there without hitting. They all have the pin sitting at about 45°. I need to bend the pin up about 20° to use it.

It's a front end stand that uses a pin that goes into the steering head and lifts from there so you can do forks as well as wheels.

Is this for a PitBull Stand? If so I might have the correct pin for you that I no longer use. If I have it I would happily send it to you for free, I got tired of fixing all my friends bikes for free and got rid of a ton of stuff thats not specific to my own motorcycles.

Thanks a million, Josh! The angle was perfect, I chopped 5/8" off, broke the edges and polished it. It works just like planned. The acetylene got it so hot a couple taps with a carpenter's hammer was all the persuading it needed - that shit is nuclear hot!
