YSR_Racer_99
Update: Finally rec'd the eargoo on Friday, so copied this guy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmk-y_9exJ8 . I have a pair of Skullcandies that I just bought because my Sony ear rubbers needed to be replaced, and the phones were on a clearance rack at Meijer for $3. Short version: I didn't like the outcome. Ear goo was fine, trimming was easy, but the buds lost all of their bass. All of it. Popped the Skulls out from the cured goo, and inserted the Sony's, with the same results. I would use the goo as a noise reducer, and the buds on their own, but won't be using the combination. Gonna try the above version today (altered foam plugs), just for grins. Note: If you copy this guy on the eargoo version, there's no need to drill out the hole like he did. You cut that away, anyhow. Also, pay close attention to the angle that you insert the buds into the goo. The alignment toward the ear canal seems to have a notable impact on the sound/ volume. I love my Sony's, though I don't like any of their other audio stuff (home nor auto, none of it). Mykill
agreed, so far my favorite hands down. I must have odd shaped ears because I can't get the marshmallows to stay with or without a helmetI got my Asyms the other day and I have to say they fit very well. However, I like the marshmallows quite a bit more. Better SQ and stay in my ear with my helmet on and were more comfortable. But I am keeping both because I am sure I will go through a few pairs during the season.

I think the Marshmallows do sound better because they have the noise cancellation whereas I don't really consider the Asyms having a good noise cancelling feature
YSR_Racer_99
Niiiice. I altered some of the memory foam earplugs like the guys shows. Loooove themmmmmm. The stock design wasn't bad, with the three little black rubber bubbles to choose from, but I love the fit and feel of the earplug conversion. And didn't lose any bass. Couldn't find my biopsy sample tool (Huh?? Who has those laying around??), so used my pocketknife to punch a hole through the middle. Lost1888
Anybody have any opinions on whats the best option for rider to passenger comm. with GPS for for tunes? No bluetooth.I use the Jvc ear buds now and am leaning towards going to something like this in the near future- http://www.wearecb.com/store/motorcycle-intercom-rf-limited-riderlink-st1-audio-system-p-3122.html. I'm aware of the chatterboxes and scala. Just looking for something a little different and cheaper.
Lost1888
If it's not loud enough I know this will work as an amp. I have a friend who uses this amp and it has lasted him years.http://www.electric-avenues.com/amplirider.html
Fonzie
I've gotten several pairs of Koss Sparkplugs over the years off of eBay, w/ the etymotic tips. LOVE them, and very reasonably priced. Think I've paid ~$20-30 in the past. Sound is plenty good for me, & with that flanged tip they stay in my ears real good, even with the helmetI'd give you a link, but I just tried searching for them, & not finding anything?? **Here's one I just found. Little more than I used to pay, but I think these are a step up too/cord looks a little nicer...http://cgi.ebay.com/Koss-165622-Kdx100-Earbuds-/230592149169?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35b05cf6b1#ht_2848wt_1139 Edited March 14, 2011 by Fonzie

sturg
i got these guys in january. For the past 3 years ive been fucking with different types of earbuds while cycling, working out and riding. These have been flawless so far..once they're in, they stay in. http://www.yurbuds.com/ybcart/products.phpYou can order the "ear bud enhancers" and simply slip them over stock ipod headphones. and pay 19.99 instead of 29.99 Edited March 15, 2011 by sturg
tyler524
My Bluetooth Chatterbox speakers do a great job and I can hear it with no problem. The little tiny bit of wind noise is well worth the convenience of not having to try and keep them in your ears while you put a helmet on and all if the pain that goes with earbuds
sideout
Great reviews...the major issue I have with headphones is they start to hurt after a few hours of riding with my helmet on. Been looking for something bluetooth but will buy the marshmallows first.
scottie.harris
I use the Sony sport headphones that wrap around and they're great. They stay on easy, loud, and very durable. They don't hurt me or interfer with sunglasses.I've tried several headphones and blow speakers on almost all of them BC I have hearing loss. These are the only ones that hold up to me, bit recently bought some skull candy headphones.Never had the jvc marsh mellows, gonn have to give them a try, how durable are they? jporter12
I just bought a pair of the Marshmallow ear buds, and on the initial test of just throwing the helmet on, after switching the foam pieces out, I think I'm going to like these.Last season I had a pair of Skullcandy Ink'd that I used only a couple times. Over the winter they came up missing, so after reading this thread, and forgetting what one's Casper said worked best, I remembered that he said JVC something so I tried the "Sport" ear buds, which have the piece that wraps around the ear. They worked really well, about half the time. Once I got the helmet on, the slight pressure against the bottom of my ear would cause them to pop out and ruin the whole deal. The Marshmallows seem to be fine for that.I got them at Meijer for 19.00$ 99 cents cheaper than the OP!
danballa
I love the memory foam tips! There are several different style that use those. For me, they definitely work the best. They stay in my ear, even at 150+, no helmet. They are all day comfortable, solid, great feel and fit very securely. If you use a helmet, the volume needed is much less then other styles, because they block out so much of the surrounding noise. That can also be a bad thing, as you can't hear people talk, or other sounds, so use at your own risk.I have been using Memorex EB200a for a while now. They have the Comply memory foam tips, cost $10-20, and fit my ear really well. I love these things. Also tried a Kicker EB101, which has an included mic. They come with silicone tips, And the Comply memory foam tips too. I paid $10. shipped via ebay. There is a little button on it, and with an Iphone, you can play/pause, next and previous track. If I tuck the Mic inside my helmet, I am able to talk at 65mph on the busa, and hear, and be heard clearly. The next style I try, I think is going to be the Memorex IE400. They have a 14mm driver, that sounds very appealing. I have only heard one person talk about them, (who wasn't a biker), and he loved them. LoTGoD
New model coming from Skullcandy...and they actually look promising.http://www.skullcandy.com/fix_specs.html
MarkB
I use SkullCandy Asyms, the thing I like most about them is the fact that they have a lifetime warranty... the wire frayed and went bad on my last set, sent them in and they sent me a new pair. The exchange takes about 4 weeks, so I bought a second pair so that when the pair I have currently fails, and I send them in again, I'll have a back up. jporter12
New model coming from Skullcandy...and they actually look promising.http://www.skullcandy.com/fix_specs.htmlI'm curious (maybe scared) of the price. Anybody find a set of Bluetooth ear buds that will fit under a helmet? I've heard about Bluetooth adapters that you plug your wired buds into' date=' but that seems to be as irritating as plugging into an mp3 player.[/quote']Duh. JStump
You can make your own using the orange safety ear plugs. FYI. This is what I did but they tend to wear out after a couple months and do not hold their shape as well. Do the JVCs hold their shape and strength long? Bad324
I'll give you the work thing for sure. Going helmet speakers and ear plugs has been the best decision I've made in motorcycling since buying the vfr
dustinsn3485
I've not read any of this thread, but I can speak relevant to the topic... I bought a pair of ME Electronics in ear headphones awhile back after reading some positive reviews about them. I've now worn them a half dozen times and probably at the longest single period for about 6 hours. For the price I'm really pleased with them, they don't pull out when taking off or putting on the helmet, they are comfortable, and they do a nice job doubling as an ear plug. I've got my mp3, escort radar detector, and garmin gps, all piped into them and it serves my purposes excellent. Coincidentallly, shortly after reading the reviews from other motorcyclists about them, the popped up on Groupon and I got them for $15 I think. Here is a link to the website. Definitely worth trying, imo. http://www.meelec.com/MEElectronics_M16P_In_Ear_Headphone_with_mic_p/ep-m16p-mt-mee.htm
TimTheAzn
I was using skullcandy "the fix" headphones and they were great, until I got a sena Sent from my iPhone.
JaSSon
I like my Etymotic HF3's. These things are NOT falling out, the sound quality is well above average, and they're durable. (I've washed+dried them no fewer than twice). I scored them at Bestbuy a few years back for like $60 on a pricing mistake.
ReconRat
still using skullcandy Ink'd. Break about one pair a year. At 12 to 14 bucks, not complaining.
