Hubby is deciding to get a different bike. Nothing wrong with the current bike but he's wanting more of Tourer (cough.. cough Harley.. cough).

He's selling his 2006 Honda VTX 1300c.

Great bike!! I would take it myself if the handle bars came back more. (I'm a bit of a midget.)

So here's the Craigslist ad.

http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/2413966089.html

Copied from ad:

10000 miles

new tires and oil change.

All maintenance performed by Honda dealership.

Küryakyn (Edge) jumbo hard (leather covered) saddle bags with quick release (NEW BAGS, INSTALLED LESS THAN A YEAR AGO, AUGUST 2010)

Saddlemen bar bag

Sissybar

Blue led lights

Title in hand

Never laid down

Call six one for 499 5zero17 between 8a.m. and 10p.m.

No joy rides.

Serious inquiries

Cash or certified bank check.

LOCAL ONLY WILL NOT SHIP

More info:

It's priced to move! $5500 OR BEST OFFER.

Recently serviced. New Tires. Just had a oil change.

I personally would love him to keep it and give up dreams of the motorcycles that cost as much as cars.. but he's going to sell.

Most of you have seen this bike at Bike Nights..it's been taken good care of. Garage kept.

Purchased in June 2009 from John Hinderer Honda Powersports

Anyway.. I'll post some better pics then what the ad has later tonight. I took some yesterday.

Let me know if there is interest in it.

I have several sets of longer risers here taking up shelf space that might fix that problem for you, if you're interested. I bought them for my Shadow, but ended up not using them. They'd be cheap, since I can't remember what I paid for them. :p

VTX 1300 not good enough for touring? I beg to differ . . . .

Good luck with the sale.

And you have upgraded the seat. His is still stock.

That and he even says trying to grab the drag bars for that long (he's only 5'7, short arm length) is a bit uncomfortable for long trips.

Your bars aren't drag bars.

bump bump

$5500 obo.. The hubby really wants a Harley and is dead-set on getting one.

Seriously negotiable- No low-ball offers though.

Very nice bike. Just not the long haul bike he's wanting.

I second that the VTX is probably more of a tourer than the Harley. Think about it. No chain maintenance on the road, rides so smooth, if you want loud just add some Bub JH pipes, need more pull back there are plenty of options from risers to whole different set of bars, need a cushy seat send your stock to MeanCityCycles, etc.

It is so much better. Can be customized soooo much.

If he wants a "real" tourer than get a GoldWing. Those things are sweet, comfy and plenty of get up and go...did I mention plenty of trunk space.

Just my .02.
