chevysoldier
I still don't understand how/why they stopped. Unless they went too quick and water got into the snorkel?
LongDogRacing
that commander (or platoon leader) needs to be fired.that was an unnecessary risk, and put the lives of those soldiers in danger. the fording capability of those vehicles are good, but not THAT good.now, your hard-earned tax dollars are going to have to pay for those vehicles to be overhauled... The Wind
I still don't understand how/why they stopped. Unless they went too quick and water got into the snorkel? From what I can gather the trucks hit a low spot in the pavement, which then water entered into the snorkel and stopped the trucks in their tracks. I was reading somewhere that the snorkel on that model of troop transport is extend-able to over top of the cab. Someone forgot to extend it before going swimming...oops
chevysoldier
That was my guess. Would be the only way those, LMTVs I think, would die. Of course the first truck made it through...
