jbot
Hi fellers, anyone have suggestions or recommendations for a office safe that doesn't have an electronic lock? so far, i've found this:http://www.sentrysafe.com/Products/136/D888_Security_Safe#doing some research on behalf of my parents since they cannot internets.they want something near the size of the one on the link (~6 cu feet of hurtful jerks) will be used for documents, heirlooms and the like. fire proof would be good.they had a cheaper safe with an electronic lock and it died and locked up on them, so they want to stick with a mechanical lock. also, things that go "beep beep boop bop" angers and confuses them. I have a smaller sentry safe its fire proof with a manual lock think it is maybe 3 cu feet. looks about half the size of the one you listed. conn-e-rot
I'd look for a fire safe and also make sure it is waterproof. There are a lot of fire safes on the market that are not waterproof.
Scruit
I have an electronic keypad safe. When the battery dies there is a panel you pop off and there is a regular mechanical lock you can use instead. Keep the physical key in a safe place and you're good to go. Had the safe for about 5 years and the first set of batteries lasted 3 years.
flounder
Thats not a bad safe. Word of advice. Buy a safe much larger then you think you will use because you will fill it allot quicker then you think.
Mykill
I think we are all missing the important question of what is going in the safe...
