Fairly straightforward question related to flooring support.

My understanding is that code says 40lbs sq/ft with a safety factor of 1.5-2 is what a residential floor is required to support. If you were going to have a load that only traversed 2 joists (2x10 16ft span, Load @ approximately 6-8ft from a support point for the joist) How many additional floor joists would you add to support approximately 180-200lbs sq/ft.

I was planning on:

Doubling up 1 of the joists for the entire 16ft span

Adding a double joist between 2 existing joists which would be in the center of the load.

Double up another joist for approximately 12ft of the span and tying them off together.

Then a screw jack under the double joist spanning the 16ft span.

Thoughts?

Debating on how large of an aquarium would be safe depending on weight.
