I went to see my first 3D movie yesterday, took the family to see Star Wars 3D. I must be to old to care because i don't get it. There were some parts that were cool but I don't get all the hype, definitely not worth the upsell on tickets. It actually started to give my wife and me a headache.

Is it just me...it seems like everything in the scenes are sharp and "in focus." The 3D makes some things appear closer, but the farther ones are just as sharp. To me it makes for a neat trick, but does not look realistic. All that said, I have almost no depth perception.

I wondered how that would be. The best are movies that are actually filmed in 3d, not converted to 3d.

I prefer a regular movie, but will see a 3d movie if thats all its playing in,

so far I've liked the ones I've seen, the effects have come so far from the

days of the red/green glasses!

About 12% of people can't see 3D effect in movies and TV. The headache is a symptom of that. I've also read that it can take a while for the eyes to adjust to seeing simulated 3D. It's known as stereo blind, and it's pretty common. It can be total or partial. It effects depth perception as well. It is possible to learn to see 3D and make depth perception pop into reality like suddenly having new vision.

It is indeed still a fad, not really any different than any of the previous times it was offered. It has a long ways to go before it's here to stay.

Best 3D movies I've seen were shown at Cape Kennedy, the iMax theater. One shot inside the space station, and the other a science fiction story about a family living in a very large space station orbiting Earth. Real 3D camera work, no conversions.

The wife and I took our niece to see Toy Story 3 and when we got there she literally cried because it wasn't in 3D. I wanted to smack her in the head and tell her I'm 20 years older than you and I've never even seen a 3D movie, so stop your bitchin.
