RIP Carroll Shelby

Great vision in his day, but for the past 20 years or so Shelby had come across to me as a fish out of water. Technology really kind of passed him by.

"take off all the unnecessary weight and stick a bigger engine in it" was never a high-tech philosophy, and I liked that about his cars. I just don't consider anything made after 1979 one of HIS cars.

I suspect he might feel somewhat the same. IRS, traction control, forced induction, ABS... Modern gadgets Carrol didn't need or want!
