donkason
I've noticed this more and more over the past few years and I don't understand. I see people leave a stoplight and drag their feet until they have to pick then up to shift. I don't see a particular group do it any more than others. Is this a preference for riders or a sign of a McSquidworth coming down the pike? To me I'd rather be in position as early as possible, except for the occasional leg stretch. I also keep my feet up as long as I can when coming to a stop. It's kind of a balance game I play for fun.Let me know folks!

buildit
If there are cars in front of me I sometimes do this just in case I need to stop again or they forgot the left turn signal.
Bad324
definitely lazy, I do it often especially if there is another light or slow down up ahead

Bellboy1
I have noticed this as well on a few riders lately. Maybe it was the way I was taught to ride, but I have to think about keeping my foot down. My automatic reaction is to pull it up to the pegs as soon as the bike starts moving. I'm partially afraid I'll catch my foot on the ground and pull it back into the foot peg and break my ankle. If my foot is up on the peg, that can't happen. TheBrown57
^^ The image in my head of my leg bending the wrong way and snapping keeps my feet up Even when I stop I only put down one foot most of the time (the right one usually)
buildit
Maybe they think there riding in slippery mud? Not uncommon to ski thru the slick stuff.
donkason
I clean my sandals off this way. Pfffft sandals are for racers. They make my feet sweat so I go barefoot. My toes are like aerodynamic little torpedoes when I'm slapping the rev limiter in 2nd gear at the Walmart parking lot. Gixxus Christ!
I take this as a sign of a shitty rider and see Harley guys do it most often. If the bike is moving your feet should be up. I don't feel right or safe with my feet off the pegs while I'm in motion.
216cityboy
THIS along with constant rev-rev-rev-ing at a red light annoys the flock out of me.

wicked94s10
Harley guys do this to help balance when they are drunk. I do it about 4 days into a long ride when my legs get tired. Usually after about 1500 miles I start getting lazy

RHill
I do it out of lazyness when I know I'll be stopping about 50 feet up. Sometimes float my feet just off the highway out of boredom or to stretch out too.

sporttour
Definitely a sign of a rider with limited skill, ability, knowledge and pride. A member of the junior squid squad indeed.
