Don't worry, it's just training exercises.

Never mind the low-flying Blackhawk's firing blanks...Just an urban training exercise (to protect the children). Nothing to see here.

And in Houston...

I got an email that the local SWAT team will be doing a training exercise tomorrow evening in the building I work in (private campus) and not to be alarmed if we see a bunch of LEO's around campus. They are using a section of the building that is currently unoccupied.

Probably National Guard exercise: Vigilant Guard 2013.

Similar to the Vigilant Guard 2012 exercise.

And Marine forces just wrapped up an urban warfare exercise on Guam

edit: what I don't understand is that Vigilant Guard 2013 was supposed to be Colorado National Guard in Arizona.

And some training by Missouri National Guard in Missouri. Unknown why Miami and Houston.

Wow..... All recent ops in southern states that filed petitions to secede. smile.gif

My big question is that if this is training for elite military forces to run urban based ops in other countries, why are local LEO's involved and being trained?

Our cities are nothing like Iran. Our LEO's will never be in Iran. Add to that the 1500 Assault Weapons and stockpiling of ammo by DHS. If it quacks and all that.

Seems to me the only plausible explanation is that they are training for a US Joint OP in American Southern Cities......??? No, not our govt....

What I don't understand is why wouldn't they (the government) notify the residents in the immediate area about the training exercise. That is if their intentions where honest. I don't mind my government doing training exercises, as long as they are accountable to the American citizens. At least that's how its supposed to work. Do you think the government would be O.K. With a few hundred citizens with flying licenses flying their helicopters (legally) and armed (again legal), then firing some blanks.... If that were to happen we would be shot down within minutes. But, its O.K. for them to do it. Gotta love that standard.

a friend posted this on another board and I have to agree-

"I'm not buying the "training" stuff.

Post 911 and all that. I'm not buying the military protecting us from the jihad guys either.

My theory on how things SHOULD work - even now....

CIA finds the bad guys. IF the bad guys are inside the USA - then the FBI finds the bad guys. BEFORE YOU GOTTA fully air assault downtown <anywhere>.

Ideally, this stuff would be done WITHOUT much action and with very little fan-fare. Probably pretty cheap too. CIA finds joe-camel drawing up some ideas and the military smokes his ass - like magic. If he's inside the USA already, the FBI and all those other TLA law enforcement agencies we got take him down.

Alas, the folks running the fedgov can't find their ass with both hands, so I guess they gotta plan on all out warfare. Unless.... the scenario is as some of our more paranoid members envision it. Which is why I don't have a warm-fuzzy over what they're doing."

Rings true....

Situation remains. A pattern of practice still begs the question, practice for what exactly? And really serious about the practice exercises.
