I've helped swap many wheels around the paddock and pits and never seen anyone change pads out.Now if you were like a super pro etc. I am sure they use different pads for different tracks, conditions, etc, in regards to bite and make up of the pads. I would however prep the rotors on the new set of wheels just to make sure your existing pads can bed some of it's material onto them.Other than that, throw them on and go.(This is assuming you're running stock rotors on both of course, but I don't think it would matter if one were aftermarket and the other stock anyway.) TSB67 Posted February 23, 2013 Report Share Posted February 23, 2013 As long as the compound stays the same you're good to go. Supposedly some compounds can contaminate each other. I hone and scotchbrite the rotors when switching compounds (such as OE to race or vice versa) but then run one set of pads across multiple rotors.
