  6. Absolutely, I know we had 1-2 people turning about low to mid 1.30's all day, I turned a 1.25 Saturday and shaved 1.1 off for Sunday's races after school. As a whole the I/O group was anywhere from 1.40ish to like high teens(including school members), so about 25 seconds. I agree with taking a Race School earlier than later BUT only if you are really ready, get your N days in, run a few I days, THEN go to race school. People lose focus on what N days are truly about, they are about becoming a better, safer track rider. Not just about going faster, or being bored in it. The braking and gearing sessions are VERY important and help with everything all the way to racing. Our instructors talked about those session every class time. Unfortunately, it isn't just about thinking you can go fast, it is about what your talent level can truly handle at that time. My instructor actually told me that becuase I was pushing real hard before lunch, too hard. He waived me off the track and said listen, you are right on the limits and you need to take a step back. He said it wasn't a limit of the bike, tires, track, but a limit of MY ability, he made sure to let me know that this wasn't a knock on me, but just a fact and that seat time = high limits. I respected the heck out of that becuase I could have gone down, hurt myself, someone else, or just ran stupid, but I came in, gathered myself and ran some better times after

  11. Ain't gonna find one up north that hasn't been destroyed via the frame recall on them. But I do agree, those Taco's are bulletproof.

  12. I've got to be the one who mentions Tacoma's, lol. I had a 1997 Tacoma with a 5-speed and that truck was tough as nails, loved it!

  13. No thanks on the 280z. I like em, but if I let the Ranger go I'll need to replace it with another solid daily with a/c. Lol

  14. I agree with those guys. Both engines are reliable, but get the V6. Gas mileage isn't much different, and they are much more pleasant to drive. I had a regular cab S10 Xtreme with a 2.2, and it was ridiculously slow. I have a '91 S10 with a TBI 4.3 and 5-speed, and I really like it. You said you want a newer (2000's) truck, those have the Vortec 4.3 which I've driven several times and that motor performs really well for a truck that size. If you're tall (6'2" or more) I'd recommend getting an extended cab. There isn't a lot of leg room in the regular cabs and it can get uncomfortable on road trips. As far as winter driving goes, both mine were lowered 2WD trucks and I had zero issues in the snow.

  15. Both the 4 cylinder and V6 S10s are pretty reliable engines, but the 4 banger is underpowered IMHO. I've had 5 different S10s with every engine but a 2.2. The 4.3 is an awesome engine in those trucks, the 2.8 and 2.5 drive about the same not horrible with a 5 speed but not very peppy either. If you look into Rangers avoid the 4.0L, everything else is pretty comparable to S10s.

  16. s10/noma with a 4.3 is the best way to go. 2.2 was designed for fwd cars and should have stayed there. I get 24mpg in 92 s10 with the 4.3. 4.3s are actually rather fun in these trucks and respond well to mods. As well 4.3s are about bullet proof.

  18. 100% serious. go to a car auction sometime. if the bids don't meet what the seller wants, no one wins the auction even if you were the highest bidder. often the seller isn't even there and the auction house calls the seller to see if they will accept the bid or not. just because you beat everyone else bidding on it doesn't mean you automatically own the car. when you "win" the bidding, the auctioneer will say your bid price and say "with an if". that's what made me laugh when I read his thead and said something about consumer protection stuff. he's obviously new to auctions. I wouldn't cave to him no matter what he did. and I'd sue him for slander if he went around the net slandering my business.
