Whats up all .. My name is Ken, currently driving a 02 svt lightning. The color is "true blue" currently has 26000 miles on it. It's completely bone stock (nonetheless a pretty fast f'ing truck) but I have big plans for it, which is why I wanted to join a solid, local car forum. I've lived in Columbus for 10+ years and prior to the lightning I owned a 2001 Toyota slowlara :grin2:. I have friends that are on this site and referred me over here, they said I'd be an idiot not join. so just wanted to delete my n00b status and say hey.. Any other lightning owners, what up, and I look forward to talking with everyone. http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/1921/imag0056pd.jpg7 points

hello columbus, just doing my intro. my name is cory im 20 yrs old. i drive a 1999 Pontiac Trans Am LS1 M6. bone stock but not for long. i bought it in april of 2011 and has it changed my life. when i bought it it had 157k mi on the odo,car has 166k on it now. paid $6300. came with the WS6 wheels and had no problems.noticed the oil pressure gauge was shaking a lot at warm idle so i replaced the pressure sending unit and oil pump for good measure, fixed the issue.on to the pics. in the driveway of the previous owners house http://i398.photobucket.com/albums/pp65/autogeek23/testdriveday.jpg driving it home http://i398.photobucket.com/albums/pp65/autogeek23/Grippedsig.png so i drove it pretty hard all summer. broke 5th gear somehow after having the car for just over i think 2 months. then 6th gear also did not work by the end of summer. so i did not go on highways once 6th broke. first time i took it to the track, which was the first time i ever drove a RWD Manual at the track i did horrible but improved quickly.dont have vids of races or pics of my timeslips but i ran a 15.4 my first run. then a 14.4, 14.2, 14.1, 14.0xx all at norwalk. then that night went to Dragway 42 and ran 4 low 14 runs till my last run i finaly hit the 13.9. on worn kumho summer tires. couple weeks went to 42 again and ran a 14.0 then i go to do a little burnout before my second run and all i hear is grinding.diff is tore up. http://i398.photobucket.com/albums/pp65/autogeek23/tagettingtowed.jpg http://i398.photobucket.com/albums/pp65/autogeek23/baddiff.jpg idk if you can see it but some teeth are gone. now its in my grandmas garage and i have my trans out and am gonna ship it to Tick For a stage 2 rebuild. http://i398.photobucket.com/albums/pp65/autogeek23/oldclutch.jpg http://i398.photobucket.com/albums/pp65/autogeek23/transaminstorageonstands.jpg last day before putting it away for the winter i smoked the clutch on an attempt to do a burnout in second gear. http://i398.photobucket.com/albums/pp65/autogeek23/burntflywheel.jpg guy i bought it from said it had a new clutch with little miles on it. DURALAST clutch from autozone. who ever did it was not a good mechanic. http://i398.photobucket.com/albums/pp65/autogeek23/looseclutchbolt.jpg http://i398.photobucket.com/albums/pp65/autogeek23/243heads.jpg going to be Doing cam with supporting mods, LT's,ORY,magnalfow catback, LS6 intake,42 lb injectors and a racetronix pump. might have the 243's i bought milled and cnc'd. hopefully i can afford nitrous(nytrex 100 shot). all by june at the latest. oh and i have an LS7 clutch with steel flywheel to be isntalled.also proper suspension mods, panhard bar, subframe connectors, tunnel brace mounted tq arm, UMI lower control arms im on LS1tech as autogeek23, heres my youtube http://www.youtube.com/user/autogeek23?feature=guide sorry if this was a long intro.5 points

So as a few of you know I sold my RC51 and am turning the funds into a dedicated track bike. Well, I decided to go the route of a project build, rather than just dump $3k+ on an established track bike. Not that there is anything wrong in doing that, as there are lots of good deals out there to be had. But between frugality and the desire to build something all my own, I found an 05 GSXR 750 (well most of one) for a song and dance, and decided that was a good platform to build from. I've since set about acquiring parts, and am getting back to spending quality time in my garage, something I haven't done in a while. Given the resurrecting nature of my project, I have been taking pics and documenting what I've got and what's been done as a means of entertaining myself throughout my project. For those interested, I'll share the whole thing once its done, but until here is the first pic I took when I brought home my project. It doesn't look like much now, and even less then (granted only a week ago) but she should round out nicely. I am sure it will end up being more bike that I am capable of maximizing on the track, but while I am antsy for the days of cutting cold laps far behind the likes of blue0636, jbot, SJC1000rr, I am enjoying giving new life to this gixxer. I can tell you it's a solid base for a tracker, as the motor is tight, the frame is true, and the rims are properly round. Alright, enough typing. Back out to the garage to clean and build!1 point

Shiiiiit...that shortay D&D can is pimpin'! Yeah, um that was the first thing I tore off the bike. You wouldn't believe how that POS was rigged on the hacked up header. I've seen 8th grade metal shop projects done with better quality.1 point

I started this conversation in another thread and regret doing it now because I don’t think R.I.P. threads should be a discussion thread that a lot of them turn into. http://www.ohioriders.net/showthread.php?t=89272 What is the point to a R.I.P. thread? Is it to be respectful and acknowledge the rider or are they to be used to decide who was at fault or if they should have died because they weren’t taking all the necessary precautions? I find in no more relevant if a rider was wearing gear, has a valid license, plates or current insurance. Riding is inherently dangerous, a R.I.P thread doesn't need to be dissected into each individual’s level of acceptable risk to decide if the death is valid or not. These people don't deserve to die just because they don't have others same values for risk assessment. The folks on the car forums would think that just riding no matter what precautions you take make you a fool to take such chances with your life, maybe they are right. The track only guys have decided that the street is not where they want to ride; do they deserve to die on the track after taking the entire street riding risk out of their activities? If someone is current with their tags, license, insurance, wear all the proper gear, ride obeying all traffic laws and still die is that loss more tragic?1 point

Not a bit. I am a cold dude. I appreciate the compliment. I'm not so arrogant as to think that anyone else gives a fuck about something or someone I care about, so I'm sure not going to slather "RIP" stickers all over my ride to tell the world how thoughtful and caring I am. But hey, do what you want. Put your friend's epitaph on the window of your Grand Caravan, next to the Sunoco free gas sweepstakes sticker. Actually, that may be appropriate... next to the epitaph for the dinosaurs...1 point

Hey all, been awhile since I have been active on here. I had a black '05 A5 Mustang GT that I brought to a few CR track events with a best of 13.43 at 103.95. The car had Steeda CAI, BBK shorty headers, o/r x-pipe, dyno tune and was putting out 280 rwhp and 300 rwtq. http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/354/dsc00645resizeki9.th.jpg Now I have a 2011 GT A6 with C&L CAI and a canned tune resulting in 370 rwhp and 338 rwtq. I ran one Jeg's midweek madness at trails last year with a best of 12.71@ 112. I am signed up for the spring track day, and I look forward to getting to know folks again. http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/528/newwheelsb.th.jpg Scott1 point

I've decided to take a shot at these after having Pazzos on my 51. I'm no super track dude, but dig trick go-fast parts. I did have the same kind of questions regarding the build quality of them that Brian has, but Ryan was very forthcoming on his thoughts, and I trust him. Gixxie's endorsement here helps too.1 point

^ This. Still a ton of RN jobs out there. At OSU base pay is no experience is 23 an hour. RNs at agency places and my old nursing home were pulling in 30's and upper 20's respectively. RN has a great job market and different avenues. There were signing bonuses and stuff when I was in school that dried up along with the jobs once I graduated. I was happy to get experience and a job. My CSCC degree has paid for itself and I think I have a pretty easy job like blue03636 said. I'll be done with my bachelors beginning of May and look forward to other opportunities it will provide for me. I will likely continue for a master's degree. Edit. Tim Licking Memorial had two Rad Tech positions posted when I was there Thursday.1 point

I dont see any harm about the fallen rider section, but I dont frequent it much at all -- personally, I dont want to read about all the sad reminders of how deadly bikes can be......but I do love riding so if I die doing such, I'll die much happier than bleeding out on a shitter from bursting huge hemorrhoids1 point
