Ellsworth Blosser would be 85 years young today. He grew up Mennonite on a farm in North Lima, Ohio, went to undergrad at Goshen College in Indiana, and attained graduate and post-graduate degrees at Ohio State. Worked as a chemist and metallurgist at Battelle Laboratory in Columbus and then in the same capacity at Worthington Industries. The man could grow one hell of a garden and could fix anything (and I do mean anything) with a motor or an engine. He also was mean with a stick welder in his hand. Sang a pretty good baritone/bass in the church choir at All Saints Lutheran in Worthington, Ohio, where he and Mom were founding members. Never missed a single baseball game of mine, from neighborhood games at age 9 to the American Legion World Series in Carson City, Nevada when I was 18. I haven't, and have vowed not to miss any game my son plays in - it's something Dad did that sticks in my memory. He doted on his only grandchild (my boy) for the 4 years that he knew him, and was married to my mother for 2 months shy of 46 years when death took him. Extremely frugal, he never earned what one would deem "a lot" of money, but when he died (and mom, less than 6 months later) he left 7+ figures to their church, their schools, and a couple of other charities. I buried him on my 40th birthday, nearly 7 years ago. I heard this song for the first time ever the day after he died, and I damn near rear-ended a semi on Rt. 3 in Westerville because I couldn't see. Happy Birthday Dad! Me and Jr. miss you a lot! Sorry for being long-winded, and perhaps boring, but it's something I wanted to do.2 points

Getting back to the bank switching thing, I'm willing to bet that I've made more than one payroll administrator grumble my name when I email them asking for my direct deposit to be tweaked. Moving your DD isn't that big of a deal, and if you have half a functioning brain to get all the pertinent details from your existing billpay accounts and move them to the new bank (and not be a complete idiot and close the old account before you open the new), then I would hope you'd have already done it by now. It's a fairly simple process: Go to new bank, open new checking account Register for online account access, verify you have access to all newly opened accounts Log onto old bank, establish transfer link between new and old account (will take 2 days) While you're waiting for the transfer link to be done, start copying online billpay info from old to new bank Transfer link is done, transfer enough money to put a dollar towards every bill you've set up on new bank to verify you didn't screw anything up By this point, you should have the ATM/debit card for new bank, start carrying this around along with old bank debit card. If you don't, do not proceed further until you do. Change direct deposit to new bank First direct deposit posts to new bank, figure out how much you need to leave in old bank to cover outstanding bills and outstanding transactions. Leave $100 (or whatever you feel comfortable with as a buffer in case you forgot anything) as a balance on the old account, transfer rest to new bank Use new bank exclusively After a few weeks, or whenever you feel comfortable that anything that was outstanding would post to old bank, walk into your local branch, tell them to go fuck themselves, collect your leftover balance (if any) and walk out like a boss. Yeah, it seems like a lot, but it's very straightforward, simple to implement, and works for online-only or brick-and-mortar banks.2 points

You should have sung Kum-fuckin'-baya with the bad guy(s), you paranoid person you. I for one am glad that you carried that day and are still around to tell us about it. I know Magz won't care (because anyone who believes in a higher power is just a worshiper of a fairy tale, and he's <way> too smart, sophisticated, and educated for that sort of nonsense) , but if you believe the Bible or the Koran (Qu'ran?), Cain killed Abel (or the other way 'round, i forget). The third person on the earth killed the fourth. So much for that whole 'peace and harmony' thing. Sucks, but violence and death, unfortunately, are a part of life. Ironic, isn't it? Ever watch Nat Geo? See some tribe of people in a jungle in East-by-God wherever that has little to no contact with the rest of the world? Killing goes on there, too. If I knew for a fact that I would never, ever need to defend myself or my boy (and I hated putting holes in targets at the range), then I would get rid of any and all firearms I might happen to own - if I hadn't already lost them in that horrible smelting incident. The above is submitted with all due respect to Mr. Magley.2 points

Oh lol I don't think you're in charge of that and I certainly wasn't claiming that. I was questioning what your opinion is as a follow up question to your posts and replies in an attempt to understand why your opinion sounds so stupid when in real life, you're clearly not. So do you think wage should, in large part, be based on how much a "real job" requires sweating and strenuous physical labor versus amount of education, training, skill, etc etc etc? Should a miner earn more than a cancer researcher, for instance?1 point

Again, mass respect to Hopper for what he has accomplished. But, the reality is that you take each rider and compare to the same level riders he competes against. Unfortunately, Hopper has made some very bad decisions in his life that caused issue with teams and even people that helped him get into the world scene. That all being said, he is a racer that has followed a dream and succeeded to a degree. But, I'm not comparing Jake Lewis to Casey Stoner or Max Biaggi. I am taking a fellow MotoGP star or WSBK star and comparing him to the same level riders he was at or should be. In other words, Jake Lewis should be compared to the top 5 riders in AMA SS. When you do that, Jake is an amazing rider at his age and what he has accomplished so far. Hopper gets compared to Spies and Hayden as he too has been at the same levels as they have. He was that good, was looking to be able to accomplish what they have, but has fallen short and has burned a LOT of bridges doing so. In relative terms, he sucks when you stack him up against those guys. He's a motorcycle gypsy that runs from team to team and never seems to ever settle down. He's fragile and made of glass... Look, take my words as 100% literal if you'd like. I know Serpent is simply stirring the pot, but you seem to be legit here. Is this really any different when you look at a quarterback in the NFL? You have respect for the guy because you know exactly how tough it is to be a starter in the NFL and especially at that position. But, there are some starting quarterbacks that suck. Why do they suck? Because they are compared against their peers and some of their peers are amazing at what they do. In every level of racing, there are sub-levels. At the club level, there are 40 experts. Those 40 experts are in different ability classes. Some are back 40, some are mid pack guys, some are top ten, some are top 5 and some are the fastest 3 guys no matter where they go. Then, US Club National level, AMA Pro, WSBK, MotoGP, etc., etc... Take the AMA. There are privateers that are scrapping funds to not even qualify at an event. Some make the show and are well off the times of the leaders. Some are mid pack, some top 10, top 5, top 3. All are very visible as far as times and finishes. BUT, the last place guy in the field is still probably one of the faster club guys when he club races. It's a crazy system, but the facts are that we compare racers against whom they compete. Hopkins was a top choice, top prospect. He's not quite lived up to his potential.1 point

No skill? No effort? Let me assure you, shooting someone in a dynamic life or death situation is fucking hard. Your vision narrows, your fine motor skills go to hell, and no one stands still like a cardboard target. Just for clarity - there are videos and accounts out there of gun fights at just a couple paces, involving trained LE and hardened criminals where shots go all over and no one is hit (the Kehoe stop video springs to mind). You flap your gums like you have some wellspring of experience in these topics (which really are your creative ways of saying guns are icky), but every time I read your blathering it's the posturing of an ignorant kid who thinks too much of his own opinion. If you ever meet your untimely demise at the hands of a crazy, violent person, may it require a lot of work and focus on their part....like a claw hammer to the cranium...I would hope your last thought would be "thank god he didn't shoot me with a clumsy blaster". Ok, Obi Wan. Fucking retard.1 point

I came across a Dad and his two small kids sunk at alum today in their 14 ft Turd, apparently a larger Stink Pickle pulling kids in a tube got within20-30ft off the side of his sewer trout and the wake entered the rear corner of the Turtle head engulfing it and sinking them. Everyone is safe, but the diaper gravy is going to be flushed and is going to cost him $1000 to get it plungered from the bottom of alum creek. Be careful and Be aware of other Turd Cutters out there guys.. It could have been way worse than just losing a butt nugget.-1 points
