I like drag racing but more importantly, I really like Doritos. No don't just like, them, I LOVE them. My oldest is named Dorito, and my youngest is named Funyon because they are typically on the same shelf in the store. I'm that guy in the meeting with orange fingers. They go with everything. Just had some ice cream with dorito crushies on top.. :gabe:2 points

Hello ColumbusRacing.com My name is Mark, and I joined so i can get a feel for the car seen on here, meet new people and maybe make some friends. I own a 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STi with minor mods. I've attempted to keep it as close to stock as possible. Im actually in the process of returning it to nearly stock for and just tune it, ceramic coat the exhaust, mod the injectors, and put a set of RCE yellow springs and camber plates on it. It has 84,104 miles on it and is in great condition. Here are a few photos for your viewing pleasure. Just a stock looking STi. http://i.imgur.com/uLZ89.jpg http://i.imgur.com/dbNNa.jpg http://i.imgur.com/INYfS.jpg http://i.imgur.com/kKT8P.jpg http://i.imgur.com/uLod4.jpg http://i.imgur.com/bO2VD.jpg Hopefully you guys like my intro. Have a nice evening. :gabe: Mark.2 points

I do not recognize any flavor offshoots created after 1994. I believe that we have to support the traditional flavor or the world will quite simply end. On a more serious note, I hate it when I really should buy drag radials but I also want cooler wheels, and not knowing how to message that to my lovely wife in a way that makes any sense.2 points

From a rider in Amarillo Texas, this was published in a local paper and bikerspost.com: Motorcyclist offers apology to D.U.M.B <--easier to read http://api.ning.com/files/f3wESplZJulEc7o94DvoaIGX8zNmXGNmQi4xb5UUWLr9iNry1N*u5FsJlqn4Hj4NUUbcmY4C1g5g6RR5Yeq7TbixdB61GY55/Motorcyclistoffers2.jpg If it helps any, here's a cleaner copy in Photobucket: http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/oo323/ReconRat_album/Misc/Motorcyclistoffers2.jpg?t=13442128921 point

A stock Ninja 250R is comparable in performance to a stock Buell Blast. I know how you all feel about Blasts, lol, so here you go. Stock Blast: WAY more comfortable seat More useful torque Better handling More of a Fighter look Stock Ninja 250R: More aggressive riding position Better acceleration when in powerband (though not by much) Higher top-speed (not by much) More of a super/sport bike look Obviously, you can modify either one to better fit your tastes. Being 5'8" 175lbs myself, my Blast moves me around very effortlessly (though mines far far from stock). Even stock, it moved past cars pretty easily on the freeway; the 250R isn't any worse, actually a little better with a quick downshift. Sure, I'd like to see someone else grab up a Blast, but I'm making this post more for a comparison of the 250R to a bike that most don't seem to like. Maybe this will give those that like the 250R incentive give the Blast a 2nd glance? Or maybe you're more willing to pass on the 250R for being similar to a Blast? I dunno, but there's some info for ya guys.1 point

Hi Rick, I had a '94 Quasar Blue Z/28 A4, and back in the day when we had our LS1Tech racing series we allowed both so we had big dogs like Rick Intrau show up and run some of the events. I still only see one forum. Powers that be, I want to post a copy of the Lingenfelter race flyer hence me being here. If I'm not given a access can someone do it for me. /occasionalspammer1 point

I just read that sticky, and realize that if you don't like my first post, I never make it out of here. I can hardly breathe now, is this box just a little bit smaller than a minute ago? I hail from Chicago and I'm one of those folks who likes drag racing though I've tried hypnosis to transfer my fascination from heads up racing to road racing. I co-founded LS1Tech in the fall of 2001, and we sold it a few years ago. We've since started PlanetLSX, which we are still tinkering with in terms of what it should be. Over the years I've raced: http://www.fquick.com/images/vehicles/full/695239075.jpg http://www.fquick.com/images/vehicles/full/695239073.jpg http://www.fquick.com/images/vehicles/full/694983447.jpg http://www.fquick.com/images/vehicles/full/694998223.jpg Even this... http://www.fquick.com/images/vehicles/full/14517200170.jpg But now this: (guess the car sitting behind it) http://i638.photobucket.com/albums/uu101/ProStockJohn/2010%20Camaro%20SS/IMAG0919.jpg Got this Heavy Chevy to run 13.15@106.7 stock and cut a 1.95. I went with the slushbox and I'm glad I did. Have since down a round of bolt-ons that will stay off-web until an article goes live in GMHTP but I can say that the car has run pretty good on the stock Pirelli tires. Whew! See you at LS Fest, and the Lingenfelter Performance Nationals too. I'll be at Indy too, I help with an Outlaw Drag Car owned and piloted by Andy Essary.1 point

Freeways are one of the safest places to be. But not in heavy traffic. Have another motorcycle lead you on a couple of trips on the highway. In light or no traffic, to get started finding a comfort zone. Learn how to stop from those speeds. And learn the differences in maneuvering.1 point

the GS500 isn't THAT bad... i like the look of the naked model, and as noted, it FEELS like a great bike, just without very much power. I never rode one back-to-back with a 250, but my brother and I did an informal 3-way comparison between the EX500, GS500, and XJ600. The Yamaha is heavy, but smoother (an inline 4 will do that though). The GS feels smallest and lightest, and I liked the brake feel the best. The EX has the best mid-range power, but the XJ actually feels quicker at the top of the power band. But the GS is definitely the slowest. But for a simple, fun, reliable bike, the GS is probably the winner. As was mentioned, air cooling and carbs make it just about the lowest-maintenance ride possible. I would strongly consider one, but I want the option of having decent 2-up power, and i just want an SV more...1 point

On the Ninja 250 you have to plan out your passes if you're going around cars. It's not as slow as the majority of the cars on the roads, but yeah, it is pretty slow.1 point

You cannot legislate stupidity out of existence. Is there a way to keep people from getting marijuana, cocaine, heroin? All of that shit is illegal, yet it still is so easy to get your hands on. Just because you throw out a law against it, does not mean those who ignore the laws are going to pay it any mind. Nor do they end their careers with firearms. Look at England. They outlawed firearms, and guess what? People started stabbing other people. Well then they outlawed knives, and guess what happened? People started beating each other to death. The fact is, you cannot stop it. You can only prepare yourself to prevent it from happening to you. I agree; it does not go hand in hand. But it is the other way around. You restrict it by law, and the only people who are truly restricted are the law abiding citizens. How many guns are too many? and who exactly gets to decide that? James Holmes only had one rifle as far as I know. 12 dead and 58 injured is acceptable in that case? You don't need more than 100hp. Your wife/GF doesn't need makeup. BRB, sending the police over your way to arrest you for a potential high speed pursuit, and your wife/GF for being a potential prostitute. Last I checked, our judicial system revolves around 'innocent until proven guilty'. If that's changed, I must have missed the memo. You step onto a slippery slope if you start scrutinizing people for things they might do. Sighhhh..... Here I go: Cars are meant to drive. Yea, you can race them, but the point of them is to start up and move on down the road at a pace faster than a human can walk. Blaming an inanimate object is stupid, no matter that object's intended purpose. I can leave my keys in the ignition all day long and not have a single worry about it starting itself up and driving away. Same goes for a gun. I can leave that thing loaded until it falls apart from rust and not have a single worry about it pointing itself at someone and shooting them. People operate these objects. They do not operate themselves. He argues that guns are mean to kill. I disagree. Guns, as he pointed out, are meant to be a force multiplier. Same as a hammer. Hammers were invented because man was too weak to overpower something else. Same goes for firearms. They were invented because some person (empire) was too weak to overpower another. Enter the tool known as the firearm. Before guns came along, other objects were adapted in order to make the killing of humans and other beings much easier. That still doesn't take away from the fact that they do have a use. I will touch more on this later. This section is full of holes. For starters, he mentions the shooter was wearing body armor. Glad to see he got his facts straight...:dumb: He then references a study that shows no references to where they obtained their information...:dumb: He seems to side with Trayvon Martin as if the case were already decided...:dumb: He mentions guns are offensive in nature and not defensive. To a point, he is right, but we're arguing semantics here. A good defense is a good offense, in my opinion. If a pull out a gun because I intend to protect myself, and then I don't end up firing it, is that not defensive? Again, semantics. He mentions it being an amendment, therefore, an add-on to the Constitution. He fails to mention it was a RIGHT. He comments on it being written during the time of muskets and now that we have AR-15s, it is somehow invalid...:dumb: This leads me to my closing thoughts: The overall theme he seems completely lost on is why Americans are granted the RIGHT to own firearms in the first place. It's not for hunting. it's not for sport. It's not to protect yourself from a mugging. It's to protect yourself from our own damn government. Plain and simple and rarely mentioned or understood by those on both side of the argument. Let me give you (a link to) a little history lesson: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Revolution Read up on that particular event and you will know why we still have the Second Amendment. The founding fathers who drafted the Constitution just finished dealing with such a situation. What do you think was their priority at that time? I assure you it was to prevent it from happening again. The idea behind it is that the People are armed enough to rise up, form militias, and take back their country from an oppressive government. If you allow your government to strip you of this right, then how do you accomplish this task of taking back your country? Honestly. I would love to know how you do this. Tell me a legitimate and full-proof way to do this, and I'll hand over my last line of defense/offense. I don't give a flying fuck how many thugs are shot on a daily basis. I don't give a shit that your 90 year old grandmother saved herself from a mugging with her .38 special. I couldn't care less that 12 people were killed and 58 were injured by a gun-wielding lunatic. (Obviously I'm not serious, because I really do care and am trying to make a point.) All I truly care about is that the American People are properly prepared in case such an event happens again, because if it does, your silly 100 homicides per year will seem quite miniscule in comparison. It happens every single day in other countries all over the world. That is the single most important thing to remember when we think about why guns have such a presence in this country. I've mentioned it before, and I'll mention it again. The First Amendment grants us the right to run our mouths about our government in (almost) any way we choose. If that fails to produce the change we, as a country, seek, the Second Amendment is there to back us up. No more. No less.1 point

Vodka ( like a lot of liquors ) can be sneaky. You can be sittin' in front of the Speed channel drinkin' it down, then get up to piss only to find out gravity has won the battle against yet another 2 legged mammal:D-1 points
