You're doing the same thing. You're assuming there was any hope of saving the child. Is there any information that would help us understand if there was any chance at all of saving him? Might the police have saved the father from himself, knowing there was 100% chance of him dying and 0% chance of him saving the boy? Or do you assert that the police should always allow a rescue attempt even if it is doomed to lead to even more loss of life? (I don't know if a rescue attempt would have been in vain, but you seem pretty sure that a rescue would have been possible. What information are you basing that on?)

911 call was for fire so the fd was there. I'm guessing by the time they got there the structure was fully involved. If it was safe to enter and rescue we must assume fd would have. Dad couldn't accept that and the cops probably saved his life. At least nobody can say he didn't try.

Dealer's have learned negotiation tactics. They jack the price up to lower your expectations of a good deal. Many people will start at their $20k asking price and pay $18k thinking they got a good deal on a $12k car. Do your homework, hit them at trade in and work your way up. Know what a decent deal is and have a "max" number before you go. Use www.kbb.com and NADA.com and others for your research. Bring whichever helps your case with you. Leave the other at home if it doesn't.

How does the red cross get helpt o people in disaster situations? They have vehicles, insurance, registration, maintenance, gasoline etc.

Hey Dave I wish you the best of luck. Being a good friend to your wife is not a crime, if that's what your mad about I'm sorry. Melissa and I became an outlet for each other to talk about things that we had been troubled with in life. It was kind of nice to be able to talk to someone when you were down or going through a rough spell. We even got to talk about our pasts and it helped us both out by being able to share those things with someone who cared enough to listen and understand. If this whole drama fest is because I befriended your wife you have issues you need to deal with not me.
