  2. LOL NADA means exactly that, nada as in zero most of the time. The market sets the price, not a book

  3. My $.02, grind and weld, nobody cares if the nuts are oem and its not a museum piece. I understand you want to preserve as much original equipment as possible but those look too far gone and I'm with anden on buggering up the threads worse with a bottom tap and not having enough room in the blind hole for a taper tap. A form tap might work if you can get the old material out but idk. Also a jackass machinist.

  6. Fuck that.. Over a hundred dollars to change oil and check some torque specs? Just change it yourself and go through owners manual and manually perform the rest of 600 mi service... Just broke 600 on mine, did oil Saturday night and next weekend I'll be going and double checking all the torque specs recommended in the 600mi service... I just can't justify spending over a hundred dollars on a glorified motorcycle oil change

  7. I don't think ALL cops, or even the majority of cops are "out to get you," but you point out some valid flaws in the current system. Most cops these days have a criminal justice degree, or something similar, but there is still a huge percentage of active-duty officers (and supervisors) who have a high-school education, and 6 months of police academy. What they learn on the job is productive at teaching them how to survive, but counterproductive in teaching them how to be good police officers. On top of that, I think it takes a very specific temperament to be a truly great police officer. That temperament alone is rare. Then you factor in the very average financial compensation police officers receive, and it should not surprise us that our police force is not as highly qualified as we'd like. Know your rights, and be prepared to put up with some harassment for asserting them. Stay calm. Be polite. Choose your battles.

  9. People registering in Advanced who overestimate their skill level? But that NEVER happens? ...but I think you're probably getting to be quite a bit quicker than you give yourself credit for, Nathan. I assume you're getting to the track pretty consistently these days, and that alone is a HUGE benefit. You're not just passing a lot of people, but you're making it look pretty effortless. THAT's a sign of superior riding.

  11. Wait, so you are talking about riding a single lung enduro bike down from Cleveland area and then ride Wayne all day? As they say in South Park, you're gonna have a bad time. Ask 1fasttc how those easy Wayne trails treat an enduro bike. That's a bad trip waiting to happen.

  12. I wouldn't say it needs a steering damper, but I have always used one and feel naked without it. I like the way any sport bike handles better with one. All the newer liter bikes seem to steer very lightly to me. Under acceleration the front tire is barely touching the ground (if at all), and the damper helps to keep it all under control. I couldn't find a mount for my bike for the Scotts damper so I had a machinist friend make one for me. They may have one available now though

  16. You can, and I do run amber rear facing LED's that do not exceed the rated candlepower. What you must avoid is doing something that looks other than a REAR of a car. i.e. two white lights, two yellow making it look like the front of a car. Same applies to the front- you can't put red lights (two laws cover that if you want the codes, both LEO and this one)

  20. Just so everyone knows, I donated $100 from the OR fund and a couple t-shirts to the cause. This is a great charity, and Joe is a great guy. He'll be rocking two huge Ohio Riders stickers on his car as well. Definitely looking forward to the pics. Thanks for doing this, Joe.

  29. Thanks Brandon. We were the first car in, on the first day last last year. Hoping for some good navigating to repeat that. Also, fyi, this rally kicks off with a few laps on Watkins Glenn race track. We are pretty excited to do this.

  30. I don't see the point of pulling over for cops on a bike. By the time they would radio in, turn around, you can be 3 miles the other direction. Lol

  31. +100 How much of a problem is it to have 3 items in your wallet with you. Why make a federal case out of it...carry your license, proof of insurance, and even a xerox copy of the registeration will do. I even have a xerox copy of the title in my wallet. NOT a BIG deal!

  32. If that is true, then you are lucky. Ohio does not allow amber running lights facing to the rear. They must be red. Only turn signals may be amber.

  33. Holy balz!! If I had $25,000.... It will go to someone who has a nice race team. Either that or the guy who shows up at mid-Ohio with the desmo.

  35. appreciate the response. this is my 30 year old 1983 VF1100C Magna that I am restoring. Awesome bike that still takes my breath away and scares me when I crack open the throttle all the way. Parts are hard to come by and when you can find stuff, it is ridiculously expensive. Brand new collector brought $760 on feebay auction. That is only a $100 less than what I paid for the bike. I have already sunk an additional $600 on it so far and I am stuck until I get this solved. Again, I appreciate your follow up response and I would very much like to do a ride with you on this bike. You will be blown away by the sheer power this old bike has.

  36. When I get this done I hope to have in in a condition that is very close to original. I did it with my 74 CB750K4 and plan to do it with this one also. Yes, this one won't have the value of my k4, but as a great ride, I like to keep it as original as possible for many reasons. Yes, I want it on the road again, but only when it is been properly been restored. Here is my 74 k4 http://s564.photobucket.com/user/myhondas/slideshow/botmy
