  1. alright dick bags calm down. heres the deal. let me first start off buy stating i have ridden and owned ALOT of bikes. I have tried pretty much every genre of motorcycle riding as well. i have owned sport bikes, cruisers, supermotos, minis, sport touring, ADV bikes, dirt bikes, etc etc. i haver done track days, and i have done long tours. i have owned harley, ducati, honda, yamaha, suzuki, kawasaki, ducati.. every brand has something going for them. every brand has assholes and posers how ride them. i may be a rare exception, but i have no brand loyalty, nor do i favor one style of riding over the other. i love hitting the track and dragging a knee or a great twisty backroad with a little excessive speed. I also enjoy just cruising and taking in the scenery and experiences travel on a motorcycle. it really just depends on the environment I'm in to which I'm preferring. I cherish the motorcycle trips i take with my father, grandfather, wife, and other family. they all ride harleys, and when I'm on those trips id honestly rather be on a harley. I do prefer a Harley as a cruiser. They are the cruiser to own in my opinion. Yeah they don't have the best suspension, or brakes, or even make the most power. what they do have going for them is amazing styling, an awesome exhaust sound, and a presense. call me what you will but i felt like a bad ass when i rode my Street Glide, and as much as you guys don't want to admit it, you would to. I got so many compliments on the bike from HD riders and non HD riders. it was an awesome bike, and ill own another harley at some point. another great thing about Harleys, is the buying experience and overall dealership service. i have told several people this.... if you want the best buying experience you'll ever have, buy from a HD or Ducati dealership. every other place I've bought or tried to buy from, it just felt like they were used car salesmen. soon as you walk in the door, its like they could smell their pray. always trying to work the deal, just feels cheap. this goes for both harley and ducati.. when i walked in i was greeted with a smile, and was asked what brought me in. from that conversation led into about me, asking me what i ride, what i have owned before, (harley dealership) , if i did track days (ducati dealership) what kind of trips I've been on, where i rode to, etc. then we chatted about his bikes and formed a real friendship. they showed me the bike i was interested in, went over everything, they knew what they were selling, they knew their brand incredibly well, and offered a lot of insight. they showed me gear, and accessories and so on and so forth. they made the buying experience about me, and my passion for motorcycles. not about their commission. i wish every dealership would run themselves like a harley or ducati dealership. back on to ranting.. every group, and brand have stereotype riders and you'll have that. i don't really give a fuck what anyone thinks of what i ride, obviously as i ride a 650 vstrom at the moment. Harley isn't stubborn with advancements. they are smart. people who want a harley want it for the way it makes them feel. harley is a genius with marketing, and a they have created an image that no other brand can compete with in their segment. Ducati is good at the same thing albeit a different segment, they got it nailed. the japanese companies don't have that "hook" yet. all most all my purchases have been from me "lusting" after something. i want a experience, and feeling from the bike I'm riding. something about the bike has to have character and a soul.

  2. Hello, My Name's Kerry and I found out about your forum from talking to some people at the Lennox shopping center Cars and Coffee. My Wife, Daughter and I moved to columbus a little over a year ago from Brooklyn, NY and we are still getting settled. And since I don't really want the "this thread is worthless without pics" reply I'm going to dump my photobucket library here. Some of you may have spotted my wife's car the couple of times I brought it to C&C: http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f102/Geeto67/3edbb9cf.jpg It is a 2.0T 6 speed (FWD) with full stainless turbo back exhaust, cold air intake, H&R lowering springs, and a lot of carbon fiber pieces the previous owner spent a fortune on. Before we purchased the Audi we used to own this e30 convertible 5speed car (325i with koni suspension at stock ride height) that we used to do everything from Auto-X to grocery shop with: http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f102/Geeto67/66ea9ab3.jpg Although it is in storage back in NYC, I still own the 1967 GTO I bought when I was 18 and drove through most of the 90's: http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f102/Geeto67/GTO/786b.jpg Car is a numbers matching 400ci 335hp car with a warranty replacement TH400 (I have all paperwork going back to new). In the 90's I rebuilt the engine to Ram Air I specs (670 heads, RAI cam, RA cast exhaust manifolds, 1969 RA IV Quadrajet carb). Since it was a driver more than a race car it has 3.55 gears in the stock 10 bolt. I used to run weekend brackets with it at Westhampton before it shut down in the early 2000's (mid 12 second passes when the car was dialed in). For most of my life I have also been involved with old motorcycles. I was the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club NY Rep from 2005 to 2012 and I have crewed for a few Vintage Race teams, most notably Team Obsolete: http://www.motorcycleclassics.com/classic-motorcycle-touring/long-island-1975-honda-cb750.aspx http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/features/122_1010_the_ex_rayborn_xrtt_calvin_and_rob/printer_friendly.html The current vehicles we moved to columbus with are my wife's A3, my 1995 Wrangler (which I have owned since new), a 1975 honda cb750K, and a 2006 ducati Sport 1000. And since I didn't post pics of those yet here they are (sorry no pics of the jeep): http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f102/Geeto67/null_zps60859e89.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f102/Geeto67/5D7A9763-7DB3-4C8E-B77D-EDBD4645C8ED_zpsghlf6zmc.jpg So the reason I joined was to get connected to the racing community here in Columbus and to find out more about events. The wife and I have been talking about doing Auto-X again, and I wouldn't mind making a few passes down the 1/4 in my painfully slow jeep just for fun. Coming from NYC, Columbus feels like gearheads paradise with LSR, Mid-O, and god knows what else within short driving distance. So that's it, now I am ready for the ritual "kick in the nuts" initiation that comes with joining any forum. Either way I am glad to be here.

  8. I have a funky, period correct Tracy fairing I took off mine if you are interested. See what your VIN is, this is Suzukis first 4 stroke motorcycle. Mine is 0069. http://thegsresources.com/ ....Great model specific website, everything you need to know about your GS is there. They tried to make a four stroke back in the fifties, but no one counts that. The GS was released in other countries in 76, but waited until 77 to bring it out in the US.

  10. Nope, I just like comfort lol. Roughing it in a tent in the woods with no running water, AC or a toilet doesn't excite me at all. I prefer a camper.

  12. The kart people were worthless, and on top of that, they were kart people... I don't know how they could take this stance, but I thought they were claiming they didn't know what "aggressive riding" looked like. What I was a bit more upset by is that Kent and Brian didn't address things more firmly. To be completely fair, I know Kent went and talked to the guy after I voiced concerns to Kent. I do not know what was said, or how he responded. I also think that it should fall on Ryan Flemming to go the extra mile to keep riders from his club in-check. If Kent went down and said something to Ryan about anyone, I would have expected Ryan to put an immediate stop to it. I think of it in terms of how I would react... If Ryan came up to me telling me to back off, I might think "this guy doesn't know me... WTF?" If Kent came up to me and said the same thing, I would absolutely take it seriously and be legitimately apologetic toward whoever complained. From what I saw, this guy's response was to go out and run into me in Turn 1, then ignore black flags.

  13. Forgot to take "before" and during pics.....got the Brinkmann smoker for Father's day. Ran through the seasoning steps on Saturday, and spent Sunday afternoon/evening cooking! Seasoned the pork ribs with Montreal Steak Seasoning, the pork chops with the same plus minced garlic, and the bacon was uncured but I seasoned one plate with paprika + salt, and the other with black pepper + salt. Used oak lump charcoal with a little mesquite hardwood charcoal. Ribs - 4 hours - meat peeled from the bone perfectly! Chops - 2.5 hours - meat was still moist, and damn tasty (probably should have stopped these 1" thick chops at 2 hours for slightly more juice) bacon - 1.5 hours - top rack wasn't as crispy as the bottom rack, but a couple seconds in the microwave fixed that up Kept the temp at 225-ish, never got over 240 or below 220(except when adding the next shelf of meat). Had the water pan loaded up, and it did not need any extra water. Not the easiest to clean out the ash, but since I have fireplace equipment, it's not too bad. Would highly recommend this smoker for folks who don't want to spend more than $300 for a quality wood smoker.

  16. Tonight was a great success being that it was only our 3rd week. Thank you all for coming out and hanging with the group (Hellmutt, Snot, Rollnhot, Blueskeyes, Oldschoolsdime). I enjoyed meeting you guys and I hope you all will keep coming. I really hope that this fine community of Ohio Riders becomes part of a larger whole. The more of you that come, the more others will find out about this site and join here. As Hellmutt said, we need to start turning this into group rides, and that is the plan. We are just getting this organized so give us some time to catch our breath and get it going. Doing a group ride before and then all gathering for some wings sounds like a great day! We are going to take the advertising to the next level with flyers. The goal is to get so many folks together that the porch gets reserved for just us. BW3's has already agreed to reserved parking for motorcycles should we keep growing and keep a consistent crowd. So all of you that missed tonight, I hope to meet you very soon. This area needs this kind of organization and camaraderie. We really want to make the motorcycling community in this area just that, a community. Tonight we saw 30+ bikes of all kinds. Mostly sport and sport touring but some Harleys and cafe's also made the cut. Everyone is welcome. If you love to ride, love to talk bikes and would like to be around others who love the same, then drag your butt off the couch and join us. WHEN: Every Sunday evening from 7 until Closing WHERE: Troy, OH BW3's (cattycornered from Lowes on Main St) Ryan

  17. My wife's cousin, Bobby Reuse, is in his first ever NASCAR Nationwide race today.at Road America. He is driving the #74 Chevy Camaro. The race started at 3 or so, due to the rain delay. Almost halfway through the race and Bobby is in 28th place, one lap down.
