  1. Nah, I'm just fuckin with ya'll... After some deliberation, I bought this after a test ride today. Taking delivery Thursday, trading the Ninja in for it. 2011 Triumph Sprint GT. Like new at 2840 miles. Not a bunch of fancy electronic gadgetry and it's not dripping with moto fanatic semen samples...but it's a torquey triple that really just felt right. It corners very well, runs tiptop, and the price was right on par. Bought a 4yr warranty along with it to keep my demons pacified. Nothing to really complain about as it has everything I need, except a throttle lock. Sort of bittersweet to buy at the end of the season, but these came back on my radar once I rinsed my skull of high dollar sex machines and decided to pursue more practical options. I appreciate everyone's help and input during my search, but I'm very satisfied with my decision and look forward to many years and many miles to come. Bring on the Spring Epic Ride!

  4. This is going to be a question answered almost purely opinion and cost.... I'm sure they have different riding characteristics just like an R6 is different than a 600RR when you sit on them, and where they make the most power, etc. - but as far as capability, both are going to be so close that it's completely negligible. We live in a spoiled era. Each manufacturer makes multiple bikes that are better than we are. Choose the brand you like better, or the bike that feels better, and just buy that one. Who cares that the Honda has 150hp instead of 165hp... I would honestly do yourself a favor and try to forget everything you've read about both bikes and make a judgment based on test riding them both. If that's not possible, buy whichever one is cheaper. Definitely test another naked bike before buying one though. prolonged highway wind-speed can do a number on your neck.

  5. Congrats Hellmutt. Here's to many happy and safe miles. Here is another choice for throttle locks. IMHO safer than the others. Having had cruise on the Wing for so many years a simple pull on the front brake lever cancels the cruise. This one operates in that fashion as well as a button/lever to cancel. You never have to think about manually closing the throttle. Though you can. It is still a friction device. Works well on my VStrom. http://www.brakeawayproducts.com/

  7. Being that it's winter, my dad is looking for projects...I'll hit him up and see if he'd be interested in making a throttle lock for it. Not sure if you've ever seen mine, there's a video of it up somewhere... I'll try to find it when I get home, I think it's on my YouTube. Oh and congrats hope it works out for ya!

  14. Casper locked Carie out because she allowed the site to redirect to porn (someone complained). Tonik is taking over... Only a couple of females are still here. A bunch of guess what I got threads, thanks Doc. Many epic rides, a few meet and greets, a couple of gun threads,a bunch of poltics... normal OR stuff. Oh and the p0rn king is still red (members only).
