  1. Guys I just wanted to post up a nice gesture that someone has done for Ryan's family. Ryan had ordered new numberplates for his bike a few weeks ago. Ron and I decided to reach out to them to see if we could cancel the order. They Said they already shipped but they would refund the money anyway as his family can probably use the money for his bills. I absolutely love the motorcycle community. If anyone needs decals, please look into popshadow decals. I'm always willing to support businesses that are willing to do little things like this.

  2. The ripple effects of those massive blunders drc32-0 brought up are still affecting lives to this day... they aren't negated by the amount of charitable giving that Americans do, either. We're humans, we are erroneous in nature. The world is not likely to be a perfect place anytime soon... Unfortunately US elections ALWAYS come down to choosing between the lesser of two evils. The third party and underdog candidates may be better, but maybe they just aren't in the spotlight enough to have the muck raked up on them...

  3. None of us were alive when all that shit happened, so if you want to guilt trip the people responsible for that you need to visit a graveyard. This is the people we are today: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/america-new-zealand-and-canada-top-list-of-world-s-most-generous-nations-a6849221.html

  5. I think this will be tough on his closer friends, so I thought I would write this up so they didn't have to go through the heart ache. It is with great sadness that I have to tell you guys that Ryan Hill (@rhill on here), and more affectionately known as RACEDAY to us who knew him on the track, has passed away. He had been having some issues with breathing in the past week or so, and last night was still well enough to drive himself to the hospital. They had found blood clots in his lung(s) and early this morning, he went into cardiac arrest and did not make it. I wasn't as close to him as some of the others, so I'll keep this short so they can pour their hearts out when they're ready. But I wanted you all to know that Ryan's friends and family, the track days/racing community, and moto community in general lost a great person and asset and friend today. godspeed to you Ryan. You lived well, you gave of yourself, and you were loved and will always be loved. Godspeed. Latest update from Ryan's family: Funeral for Ryan Friends will be recieved Monday and Tuesday. Monday evening 4pm to 8pm Additional viewing Tues 9am to 11am with service to immediately follow in the Leftdahl Chapel. Leftdahl Funeral Home 898 Old Route 119 North Indiana, PA 15701 Please share this information with anyone who does not have access to Facebook. EDIT: link to his obituary. 11. Hillary…Trump…we screwed no matter what. Used to be kids could settle their differences without guns, social media bullying and all the other crap. Banks didn’t falsify accounts, everything wasn’t outsourced, and if you were growing up poor you either didn’t know it or did the best you could. These social and economic problems do not start down on our level. They’re brought on by those in political power making decisions to benefit themselves and their Party buddies. They’re all about taking care of their international concerns, controlling us down here (in the real day-to-day world), and doing as they damned well please. They’re supposed to do what we down here want. Hillary is a hard-core, political self-serving, nosey me first bigot. Trump is a greedy businessman. By his bumbling comments and ideas, he’s proved to me he isn’t much of a politician like we’ve had (Bushes, Clintons, take your pick). I’m done supporting traditional ass-raping politics. I want a change that breaks the bureaucrats’ hold, even if I have to suffer.

  16. Ok I have composed myself long enough to try and get everything out. Ryan and I would always push each other on the track. We would usually pull off passes that most would consider dick moves but hey what are friends for. Messing with suspension and just general screwing around in the pits. I'm glad we were able to just sit and chat at mido last month, getting caught up on what all I missed in the last year. We were making big plans for next season as I was going to start riding again and we were going to hit quite a few days together. Today has been an emotional train wreck for myself and I'm sure many others and while I will never understand why this happened you will be deeply missed. "Raceday" Ryan Hill will be with all of us in spirit.

  17. Your an excellent rider man, plenty fast. You guys pulled away from me on the skyway. And you seen my body position all weekend. I have none...lol. I only come off the seat when I under estimate a corner and need to kept the bike more upright to bail me out. Some times I felt like a rolling road block in front of you guys. But there is only so much I can do when I'm rolling over 1000 lbs fullly loaded damn couch.

  20. Ryan was my work cubicle neighbor, and good friend. I was going to post something here to spread the word, but I see that it is already known. All of you who knew him were like family to him, he talked about you all the time. He definitely was a great guy, and will be missed. Race In Peace, brother.

  25. I have been pondering all day as to whether or not I wanted to make a post about this because it is the internet. I know I will get harped on for my choice/decision that I made. Putting that all aside I am posting because I have ridden with a handful of you and met others. I want others to learn from my mistake and to not repeat what took place. Backstory: Decided to go on a ride with a close friend of mine who I am very comfortable riding with. We both enjoy getting lost and just going out and riding. It had been one hell of a day already with many oddball events taking place. Rode in heavy dense fog/mist, took a wrong turn and went off roading, almost ran out of gas, and just had an all around oddball good day. Now, in the middle of our day we were on a nice curvy road which got slowed down by three vehicles. We were following them for a while even though we knew we wanted to make a pass. Coming out of a right handed turn into a long straight to which I was behind my friend a few car lengths behind the last vehicle. At that very moment we both made the choice to drop a few gears and make a three vehicle pass. We could see a long distance ahead to which there were no vehicles coming towards us. We did not see the road slightly curve to where the incident happened. The curve was not the issue but the 1500 Dodge Ram that appeared as we were speeding excessively past the vehicles was. We were approaching the rear of the front vehicle when we knew we did not have enough time to make the pass. My friend hit the front brakes hard to slow the speed to get in behind the front vehicle. This action caused me to brake hard, very hard and by the time I was at a reasonable speed the next thing I saw was a brown blur going by my left side as I was in the middle of the two lanes. Luckily no one was hurt or any accidents were caused. I blame no one but myself for the choice I made at that moment to pass when I was not 100% that I could make it safely. This may change the way people think of me or my riding skills. I want people to know that everyone is human and we all make choices which impact others and ourselves. I never thought I would think in a moment that I was going to die but that moment on Monday 9/19/16 will forever be the day I realize how my choices impact life. I know that passing one car is the safest pass to be made if a pass is needed. I should have just slowed down and enjoyed the scenery. I knew what I was doing was dangerous. I had to post no matter what is said by the audience because it is a lesson for me to offer to you.

  28. @whaler - I am not scared of what happened. Even after the incident I took a short breather to analyze what happened. After I cleared my mind I continued to ride the ride and nothing has changed there. I know the risks of riding a motorcycle and they do not scare me. @jschaf - I had to brake hard because my friend was in the lead and I was behind him. If I did not brake I would have rear ended him and caused a major accident between two motorcycles and 4 vehicles. I chose the action which I thought would get all of us out alive. Granted that action happened after I made the choice to pass. I do agree that I would have gassed it instead of braking but in the heat of the moment your thoughts are not as clear as they should be. Thanks for all the kind words about the experience. Was not expecting people to share similar experiences. Glad that this community of people has open minds about actions and choices.

  29. Brandon many of us have been riding the street 20+ years and everyone of us would be lying if we said something like this never happened to us. This is part of riding and learning to be a better rider. Learn from the mistake, but absolutely do not let this make you ride scared! Riding scared is the fastest way to a crash. Dwelling and over analyzing will only make things worse. This is the part where you add to the respect column.

  30. Little dips and curves that you can't see because of skewed perspective/a horizon line blending into the background are something I always double and triple check for before making a pass. Sometimes it looks like a long flat straight and then a car appears out of a tiny dip in the road you didn't notice. Bad time for everyone if that's the case and luck isn't on your side like it was with you. The hardest part to improving yourself in any regard is admitting you make mistakes and correcting your behavior in the future to avoid making the same mistake again. You've done this, so kudos. Also I hope you were wearing your brown pants.

  32. We can either accept the facts, or live blissfully by ignoring them and only facing what is very blatantly clear to one's own eyes without thinking any deeper about the rest of society, & how things came to be the way they are. What was that old cliche, "knowing is half the battle?" I can't recall exactly what that pertains to, but it pertains to this fairly well. Those reaping the benefits of the privilege that they are living with, without considering anyone lower than them on the social or economic ladder, and the situations that cause that, are the ones choosing to live in blissful ignorance. Often while pointing the fingers at others calling out their apparent ignorance, which is far too inappropriately blamed on the individuals, but instead, the real cause was far too often brought about by generations oppression, economic hardships, social inequality, etc.... understanding how and why things are the way they are in this society is very important, but those that have it easy choose to ignore it for the most part. They also far too often are quick to point the finger and shout the L word, accusing people of being a liberal when they are just really looking out for the betterment of humankind as a whole... I definitely don't typically side with Republicans, NEVER with that fool Trump, but I don't really side with Democrats very much either. They are the lesser of the two evils in my book. I'm not terribly religious either, I do my own thing which I believe to be *usually* the most appropriate way to live a morally just life (hey, we all make mistakes and we're all sinners to some extent or another). I did however find this very amusing:
