  2. Questions like that didn't stop Ford or Edison. In fact Ford was all about selling parts because he knew that's where the money was... still applies today. Parts and service... a fricken nightmare.

  5. Maybe I'll bring a sag stick if anyone wants to set their preload with buds holding their bikes up. Just come knowing your rear shock travel measurement or desired sag distance to save time looking it up.

  6. Hell yeah! I can dig it. I just might go that route if this doesn't work. I went and got me some toys and a little more know-how. First I'll try the cheap and nasty J-B Weld to BJ the thing. If that don't work... I'll try to braze. J-B Weld is rated for 550F, which seems good enough as these motors run something like 250F J-B Hi-Temp Red Silicone Gasket Maker is rated for 650F On a side note Aluminum melts at something like 1200F, which my friend and I do for casting. Now, if all that kludge gets FUBAR I'll try Aluminum brazing. The one's in the attached picture is bronze... wrong stuff and another reason why I'm trying the J-B Weld first: I don't want to go back to the store and buy more stuff. And a shout out thanks to @Qman for mentioning a regulator "Wow...a pressure regulator! My compressor already has one on it!" on the "Tire Gauge Sale On Amazon" topic. I picked one one up from Lowes which ... which I attached after blowing a valve on my new crappy grinder from Harbor Freight. Source:

  10. I'll have to show you what real Korean meat looks like one of these days. Side story, I was brining in bulgogi in for a department potluck during this winter and the day before my manger in front of her entire teams said " ok and Tim, you are still bringing in bukkake right?" You shoulda seen my face, and the faces of everyone else that heard her say that.

  13. Weight. Rotating mass. Pull the clutch lever and blip the throttle. You'll feel the resulting torque.

  14. Well it's been a slowly oozing public knowledge about this addict failing to quit motorcycling again. Last year sold both bikes- vstrom and Daytona by the end of fall. Was some what content with the decision about quitting (third attempt in 3yrs) and living along when some one did a Leonardo decap style inception about FJR into this volatile brain. Well the thought kept brewing and before the first snow hit right before winter a used 2nd gen fjr came along for good price and I couldn't resist because of good old price and being way more foolish than I thought I would ever become I set out to rip up the bike and upgrade and finish up the maintenance. Drowned few more Hundys into it and this is it. Blue Piggy with some lipstick Ready for touring duties

  15. ill accept cash. i always take cash. for those who want to bring buns, need 30 hot dog/sausage buns and probably as many hamburger buns. maybe less. there's a convenience store a 5 min walk from my place so if we run low it's no biggie to go get more.

  22. When I was first getting into racing and working as a janitor (second job) to fund it, and buy an engagement ring, someone asked me why a guy like me was cleaning toilets. "I've got an expensive girlfriend and a more expensive hobby." "what's the hobby" "racing sport bikes" (5 second pause) "quit the girlfriend."

  23. Are you bringing that beast to the Spring Epic. If so, you should be leading the "fast" group.
