Made it home. What a fun weekend. 700+ miles total. Ran into a little bit of rain today and some wet roads. The bike is filthy, but I don't have the motivation to wash it today.
In an effort to be home for Easter, I rode home from Texarkana yesterday. 955 miles in 13 hrs 20 min, from hotel to my driveway.

Increasingly, I find that the true passionate group of true 2-wheeled addiction is really relatively quite small. We are a fringe group of unloved outcasts. Carry on my fellow addicts!!!
My daughter and I rode close to 300 miles today and had a blast. We spent about 5.5 hours on the bike. I think we will have a blast on our Tail of the Dragon trip this summer. After I talked to her about not trying to lean the bike and just to remain neutral we got pretty comfortable. I don't think the Q3s enjoyed the ride as much as us. I'm hoping with some extra preload added the next time they may not get as chewed up. Time will tell.
My oldest loves to ride with me. When I told her that her birthday gift was a trip to the Tail, she said it was the best gift she ever got. My youngest on the other hand only likes to take short runs. I think she prefers to be seen on the bike more than anything. She often asks for me to take her to friends or pick her up from school on it.
Cbr650 has like 80hp fz7 just a touch less. Gsxs750 2015 was rocking 100hp and the 2017(8?) is rocking 110. With gobs of torque below 5k. That's a lot of power down low for a new rider. Basically same power as say an F3/F4i 600 with more torque.
Boots are a 100% of the time thing for me. Work or casual ride with friends to dinner I wear my Cortech vice which have ankle support. Riding with the fucks on here or if I'm going to be doing illegal things I wear my Cortech Latigos. Latigos were around $170 and vices were around $100. It does appear Cortech is helmet house's (whole sales for dealers) house brand and that they share very similar attributes to the likes of Speed and Strength and Scorpion etc.
Anything less than a Hyabusa and it's just a waste. If you do get something less than a Hyabusa all your friends and family will ridicule you and call you a woman.
Thanks to everyone who showed up and especially those who contributed. Extra thanks to John for sticking around to help clean up.
Was great to see everyone and share good food and good beer with all of you.
170 is a little early IMO. 190-195. What was cooker temp? How long was cook time? I'm a wood/charcoal guy. I only wrap pork when the bark is where I want it and internal temp is not there yet. Alway wrap to rest. It's pork. What's not to like.
