I am finally home. I have ridden 7 days in a row, for a total of more than 3k miles. The Whale now has over 75k miles and I am scheduled to be in northern Georgia next week. If the weather looks good, I will ride it versus taking the car.
In the meantime, I fly to California tomorrow for a quick minute and am excited to not be driving or piloting anything to get there.
Physically fine. Mentally exhausted.
Stopped at the pony to look at IXS jackets to match the cheap ixs pants I bough a few weeks ago. Ended up with a 3 season textile jacket ($79), 2 sets of nice ixs rain gear ($23/ea) and a new Nolan N104 Absolute Helmet ($69) for da wife for a a touch over $200!
Road 16, 421, Roan Mtn, Green Mtn...road 450 miles today. Did 400 yesterday. Barely any slab. Almost zero rain. Now at Iron Horse planning my way north and talking my way out of slabbing it all the way just because I can.
What a mud pit! But it was fun...
My dad saw some racing for the first time at Mid Ohio. He got to ride in the dirt/mud for the first time and see the wall of death in person.
It was great seeing some of you and thank you Kevin for helping us load the bike in the rain.
There's a great little place in my neighborhood. I eat there frequently. The place is called My House. Excellent food, though the menu is rather limited.
