So I forgot about this thread and kinda fell off the forum but while I was checking my for sale threads, I saw it and thought I would update for those interested. I ended up going to court in October with a book full of documents supporting my claim including a DV report done by an independent evaluator and asked for the max I could which was $3000 plus court costs. Well in the end, I had 57 pages of documentation on why my car lost value and all Geico could come back with was a verbal "we don't believe it lost value" and tried to get all my documents dismissed as inadmissible. The judge asked me if they even tried to settle with me to which I said "no, they didn't offer a penny" he just looked at me with this look of "seriously?? Nothing??" Then awarded me the full $3000 plus costs so $3100. It might have been less if they had even attempt to settle but I think he wanted to stick it to the insurance just as much as I did after hearing they wouldn't even offer anything.

You peeps defending the Cleveland Police amaze me. A year ago the Ohio Attorney general investigated them and said they were all fucked up. A week ago the US Attorney General said they were REALLY fucked up. Heres a hint, the Cleveland Police are not like most other police departments. They are FUCKED UP. They have a pattern of using excessive force. Pistol whipping people in handcuffs. Tasing non-violent handicapped people until they are dead. They have a pattern of handling situations very badly which leads to them having to use deadly force when they should not have had to. Like this 12 year old situation, they rolled up 2 feet away from him giving the passenger cop no choice but to shoot inside of 1.5 seconds. It is a perfect example of where THEY didn't follow proper procedure which escalated the situation leading to the need to use deadly force. Cops make mistakes, we have to accept that. But when there is a long term pattern of mistakes that lead to death you have to accept they are fucked up. I get that the police, nationally, are getting way more heat than they deserve but Cleveland is an exception. They are getting far less heat than they deserve. If you don't hold those two cops responsible for their mistake when they rolled up, and the dispatcher for not giving the cops all the info then you are just like the Cleveland Police. Fucked up.

Actually Ebay sells a lot of Chinese plastic, some of it crap and some of it pretty good (for aftermarket). Prices range from $225-250 for the really cheap stuff to $500-600 for the pieces that will prolly fit pretty well. The stuff to avoid is labelled "vacuum formed" or "vacuum molded" and is the stuff selling for under $300. Look for the wording "injection molded" in the ad--that's the stuff you want. Much of the higher priced stuff is pre-drilled, but won't come with any attachment hardware. Hardware kits can also be found on Ebay and some of the stuff is even made in the US. None of the Chinese body kits are gonna be OEM quality, but this is definitely one of those things where the saying "You get what you pay for" is accurate.

Glad I don't plan on having kids. But if I did, they would be raised smart enough to not try and pull a gun on police officers.
