It is slushy as hell out there. I just came from the Schott and after making a corner the rear end of my car hit some ice and got loose on me. The rear tire ended up in a fn rutt and down a little I went. I backed it up and after about three to four tries I managed to get myself unstuck out of the small ditch. AWD FTMFW.

O i'm not skimping, the Behr is actually 20 dollars more per 5 gallon bucket. Its 119 for Behr, 99 for Drylok. The nice thing is starting on thursday its 15 dollars off per 5 gallon bucket at Home Depot. I have 1400 sq ft of walls in the basement and its that stupid poured concrete wall so it has the texture of brick. I think the outter surface can be rolled but the channels would need to be brushed (i'm guessing, i possibly could be wrong). If I put 2 coats on the surface I figured it would take me 8-10 hours to do everything per coat, so 16-20 hours of painting. With a sprayer I figured it cuts it down to probably 2-3 hours per coat and its a whole lot less tiring. Trying to work smarter not harder if you know what I mean.

I need something that will spray 2300-3200 psi and has a .023-.025 tip size. All the super expensive ones at Home Depot meet the psi requirement but only go up to a .021 tip. The Behr Basement & Masonarty version of Drylok can be sprayed on which will save me about 15 hrs of labor. I figured I'd try here before seeing about renting one. I know it's a long shot.

I'm going to begin the task of finishing the basement and will do as much work as possible by myself, with the help of some family. I'm getting mixed info about the need to seal my basement walls before putting up studs. My house is 3 yrs old with poured walls and I have zero moisture problems. Id like to know what you recommend. A family member is pushing me to drylok the walls which is going to add about 700-800 to my budget and a shit load of time and effort. If this is necessary is there a product that does a similar job and can be sprayed on instead of brushing on like drylok? Originally my home builder told me I could put down 'visqueen' which I'm told is plastic sheeting and it would provide the same type of moisture barrier. Thoughts/recommendations?? Next I recently watched an HGTV program on a basement remodel and they used blown in insulation for the media room by covering the studs to the top with plastic and blowing in the insulation behind it for sound deadening. It seemed like a cheap alternative to putting up the pink stuff so what are your thoughts to adding some r-rating to the basement in this manor. I am using nearly half of the space down there for a home theater room so sound deadening in that area is going to be part of my planning for the area. This is the method that they used in a 110k remodel so it may be a legit practice but again I like to get multiple opinions. Thanks!

BCS bowl record. The tom-dick-and-harry bowl doesn't count. Would have been nice if that fake had worked, it was 1 block away from being successful and the big ten getting some respect this bowl season.

Anyone else think this looks just like the title game against OSU? Pike is getting no time to throw and they are absolutely rolling over top of Cinci.

That throw to Ballard was so mf'ing lucky but damn was it awesome. I was on pins and needles most of the second half. How nice is it to finally come away with a BCS victory?

So what happens when those good people who've been laid off now run out of unemployment and COBRA? They continue looking and can only find part time work w/ no benefits or maybe no work at all. You saying that these low life pieces of shit free loaders deserve to lose everything they've worked for when they have something horrible happen medically and can't afford to pay for their outrageous medical bills??? Or with their newly discovered medical problems they become basically uninsurable b/c of the pre-existing condition. I guess they are just SOL. Thats what exists today. I see it as a problem. Maybe you dont. I know one particular couple who fell out of love and have sepearted. They have no plans of getting divorced but have moved on with their life. Know why they havent gotten divorced? With her rare intestional disease and age she has no hope of getting medical coverage. Nuts.

No on contrary I actually do have a clue about this. I went through medic training at Tolles, passed my EMT-B, was working on my EMT-I before changing lanes, and as a result have ridden with Franklin Township, Washington Township, and Columbus multiple times. I have several Columbus Fire members in my family and a lot of close friends are also with Columbus. We just had a huge conversation about this over bowling the other night and as I said i've seen this personally on several occasions so I have more than a clue. I'm not saying that there are not illegals that aren't taking advantage. I'm giving an opposing point of view based on personal experience. We're in agreement that people taking advantage of the system are pieces of shit. I dont get as hung up as others on the 'GD ILLEGALS!!' because I think if its between someone who is working and not paying taxes vs a US citizen sitting on their 'entitled' ass collecting welfare and not paying taxes its clear to me which is the bigger problem. The one working is ultimately contributing more and spending their money at places like autozone on tacky chrome accent pieces, adhesive flames, and aluminium wings. Furthermore, I did read the article. What you may not know is that the federal government isn't administrating their medicare/medicade benefit. For the most part they are paying several pbm's and insurance companies to do it for them. Those companies handle all the claims processing and the gov't just has to cut checks and periodically audit. Several corporations have found it convenient to drop grandfathered retirees that are eligible for such benefits bringing the chosen few more medicare business. I've worked for a pbm for years and watched growth in this part of our business just explode in the past 3 years. What I have a problem with John is people like you working and dont have insurance but 1 of the major insurers profited nearly a billion dollars per quarter for the past 3 years from over charging the rest of us. I've watched the plans that we administrate cover less and less and insurers make you jump through freaking hoops so those of us who are insured are getting less and our costs continue to rise. You should also pay attention to those explaination of benefits that are sent from your insurers. Your doctor bills them 150 bucks, for the 10 minutes of time you actually talked to him and told him about your sore throat and for him to tell someone else to call in your prescription, and when thats submitted to insurance they say the fair and reasonable cost for that service is only 65 bucks. Insurance companies are already dictating how much your doctors make homie. Most of them write it off and dont bill you for the difference. Those of you without insurance pay that 150 bucks for the same service or negotiate a discount but i'd be willing to be your not getting the same rate as the fair and reasonable cost.

I disagree. I dont think the issue is them not wanting to work. Its that they dont have to pay into the system they are taking advantage of. In my experience our visitors from the dirty south are pretty hard working folk. Hire a contractor and tell me who's doing the grunt work. You guys would be surprised how difficult it is to get those pesky illegals to go to the hospital. Their arms will literally need to be hanging by threads and you'll still have to argue with them to go to the ER. If you know any fire fighters ask them and I bet you they will validate this. I've seen this first hand a half dozen times. On all the runs that I went on I never got the impression that they felt 'entitled' to anything, it was just the opposite. They had to be dying or bleeding out to agree to go in. I agree its a f'd up system that allows them to take advantage. I'd like to see some harsh fines for contractors who employ them in order to benefit. Berto's tax idea would be fn great but makes way too much sense. Anyone who's insured and paying taxes is getting double F'd in the A. Your already paying for state medicade programs and welfare. Your health insurance premiums rise every single year and your pay doesnt go up proportionately. Your companies are paying a huge sum per employee to provide you with those benefits. For those of us in the IT field we're constantly competing with talent from overseas who may have benefits provided as part of their citizenship which saves your company even more money. Cheaper labor + no benefits equals huge profits to your stakeholders. Then take into account that over 75% of small businesses who went out of business cited insurance costs as a major reason for the closing. Its a fucked up flawed system that is quickly becoming unaffordable for businesses and employees. UHG profits - 155% increase - http://www.nasdaq.com/newscontent/20090721/unitedhealthgroupq2profitjumps155unh.aspx?storyid=1395 Obama fact check on insurance company 'record profits' claim - http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2009/jul/23/barack-obama/health-insurance-company-turned-profit-not-rec/ So the article states that UHC profited a record 1.23 billion Q4 in 2007 and nearly 1 billion(859 mill) the same time this year. How do they do that????? They charge you more and give you less coverage. And they have to b/c the costs charged to them for the same treatments continues to increase. I work in the prescription benefits business and have for 10 years. In that time period the shit that these insurers do to make you pay more has gotten greedier and greedier every year. Constantly changing what medications are prefered and non prefered, not just charging you copays any more but charging you %'s of the cost now. Its fucking shady and you get f'd in the end.

Or maybe the 10% of the currently unemployed people struggling to find work?? Tons of companies are cutting back and not spending/expanding so there are plenty of good people out of work and w/o insurance. Not to mention the amount of people in this country who DO work and don't make enough to pay the crazy insurance rates. Do yourself a favor and look up the amount of WalMart's workforce that is on state medicade plans (then run right out and buy some groceries there).
-
I've been saying the same thing the whole time. This doesnt just go for illegals its also for the uninsured obviously. With all the free ER care that hospitals give they are going to have to make it up by overcharging everyone else to a point. Why does everyone think that healthcare will be so rationed? Would there not be tons of opportunity for new hospitals to pop up if they know they have guaranteed payment? Maybe it isnt that simple but it makes a lot of sense to me.

If you have a htpc running Media Center you will love the extender capability of the 360. With tversity or transcode360 there isnt much the 360 wont be able to play. We DVR tons of shows on my pc and stream them through the 360 and it really is nice. That's one big advantage of the 360 if your machines are networked. Bluray on the ps3 is great but there is a hundred dollar difference between the systems so if it means that much to you then you could buy a standalone. The HD Dvd vs Bluray arguement is hard to make imo for the fact that hd dvd is an additional piece of hardware and doesn't come with the system. The uPnP support of the ps3 is great b/c you dont need to run a media server or transcoding application. Natively it supports more formats but with a pretty easy addon application this issue becomes almost moot. Where it will really shine is by plugging in a usb harddrive or flashdrive and being able to watch it w/o the pc re-encoding the file. Gaming is pretty subjective. Ive seen the graphics on both and the same game looks slightly better on the ps3. Its a slight edge in my not-so-expert opinion. The gameplay itself feels no different. The controller feel is pretty subjective. I like them both.

Congrats Yetzer family.

I heard a few critics referred to it as dances with wolves in space. Pretty freakin accurate. A few guys I work with said they couldn't get into the plot bc of the spiritual aspect and the whole 'save the earth crap'. I about hit the ground. These guys are so conservative that they couldn't get into the movie? I wanted to look over and ask them if the story would have been better if this ALIEN RACE on ANOTHER PLANET would have been christian????
