My childhood has been interesting to say the least. It however has helped mold me into what I am today and the reason why I put my family above all else. Try to stay with me here. My dad has been married 4 times. 1st wife died in a car accident when they were in their early 20's. He remarried a few yrs later to my biological mom. Into the picture I come, things between them don't work out and my dad gets custody. He remarries a few yrs later to the woman he was having an affair with, my sisters mom. She raised me and was always 'mom' to me. I love this side of the family dearly. They don't work out and my dad finally keeps it in his pants for a decade or so. He didnt have much choice, he went to federal P.M.I.T.A. prison for some bs. During his stay I lived with my mom over at my grandmothers house. I moved in with my other grandparents, my dads parents, for a yr waiting for dad to get out. Fast forward a year. Dad is out, wants me back so I move into an appt with him and his GF. They soon marry b/c that's what my dad does. After 5-6 weeks of my 6th grade yr. my dad and his new wifey get into some trouble for cashing stolen checks. Back to PMITA prison he goes. I go to live with my aunt and uncle in Marysville. I'm there until my freshman yr of high school. Dad gets out again and moves to southern Ohio, Meigs County (which btw is awesome when you have a last name pronounced 'blunt'). I finish out school there, graduated top of my class. I move to Cbus in 97 to go to school. Dad and current wifey follow, moving into her grandmothers house to help take care of her and for free rent. Dad and her get back into their old ways, using heroin. Dad shows up to my work asking for money several times. Once he threatened to try and steal something and try to return it in an effort to get me to give in. What a douche. A yr passes and I've transfered to OSU and got accepted into the School of Architecture. My uncle calls me to come over, they have some news. My step mom has OD'd on heroin, shes dead. I get into big altercation with my dad, calling him a worthless piece who wont stop regardless of what happens. A year passes and I dont have much contact with my dad. By this point the drug use and years of working around asbestos have taken a huge toll on his body and he no longer can work(he has something like 15% lung capacity left and is on oxygen constantly) That same year my mom is diagnosed with lung cancer, it got the best of her in less than 6 months. She passed away at the age of 42 when her life was really just starting to get easier. She was a wonderful woman who I will always consider my guardian angel. I didn't have contact with my biological mom until the Christmas of my 21st birthday. I've met her 1 time now and she seems very nice. I think shes got some issues as a result of the drug use her and my father did, she just doesn't seem 100% all there. I found out I have a 1/2 sister who lives in Colorado with her dad and I've recently started emailing her. My dad is still in and out of rehab centers and now has a 1 bedroom apt in Parkersburg WV down the street from the methadone clinic. My childhood was a disaster. I did a lot of stupid things when I was younger as a result of growing up with my dad who was always stoned. But I vowed not to follow in my dads footsteps and I've turned out better than most people would expect. If it weren't for the love and support of my other family members I'd likely be very very different. I graduated high school 6th in my class, I'm 2 classes away from graduating with honors at DeVry. I don't have much of a relationship with my parents but I'm not gonna sit around and cry about it. These are the cards I was dealt and I'm trying to make sure my girls never have to go through what I did. If you get stuck into a crappy situation you only have your self to blame if you don't rise up and do something about it.

Me and a guy were talking about the stuff Obama said yesterday. The right is painting him as the next Jimmy Carter but I think hes pretty spot on with this. He was commenting on how we are 3% of the worlds population and consume 25% of the worlds energy. I listened to O'Reily bitch and moan about how he's gonna pass legislation that makes you carpool (he kept saying 'With people you dont like!') and how you won't be able to drive and SUV or heat your house to what you want...etc etc etc. Whether we like it or not gas isn't going to go back down in price. We need it, we have to pay for it. Being up front and saying we need to take the lead on moving towards alternatives and making some sacrifices in the mean time isn't popular but its the damn truth. I'll admit i'm a super impatient driver and hate getting stuck behind someone going 'slow'. I decided to do something about burning so much gas. I've made a legit effort to use cruise control during almost all aspects of my commute and its paying off ALOT. Yet I get passed left and right when I have the cruise set on 68-69. Like i'm sitting still. I really get sick of people bitching about fuel costs b/c the truth is 90% of them don't want to make any sacrifices to do anything about it. Noone wants to carpool, noone wants to keep their speed down to get better mpg's. A guy I work with started talking about the money the Saudi's are making daily from pumping oil, something like 4-5 billion. More money in a month than most of our country could spend in a lifetime. Then he started talking about how he sees the world forming a massive coalition against the middle east and whipping them out in an effort to have total regulation of natural resources. They are getting rich b/c of land they own that has oil fields? Those are natural resources that he argues should be distributed to countries at enough to only profit alittle. I've heard people talk about this stunting the exploration b/c it wont be profitable...etc., but would it? There is always going to be a market, we're to invested to not need it. What do you guys think? It was an interesting conversation, thought i'd share.

Spending money on concrete walls boosted the local economy and made the area typically look nicer. Money went to local construction companies instead of to lazy fuk's sitting on their ass waiting for a handout with no incentive to go get a job. I have no problem with that money and more than likely you buddy padded his pockets then turned around and put it back into circulation (either the bank invested it or he bought a new BMW) so it all comes around full circle. Stuff like that doesn't bug me too much but I'd tell your buddy to F off if I heard him bitching about it b/c he didnt have to buy that house I was listening to MSNBC or CNN the other day talking about the mortgage situation. A economist was talking about how lenders were 'pressured' to get as many people in homes as possible so they took these risks. Their shady lending practices are as big of a problem IMO. They were so quick to get people locked into these loans, make a quick buck, then dump off the loan to outside investors. What's funny is they made it so easy for someone 5 yrs to get a house with no money down and shitty credit that they've turned around and made it 10x harder for that same bucket of people today and now they're writing off losses like crazy. Uniformed consumers are only part of the problem.

Anyone want to upgrade their system and sell me your processor? I'm looking for at least 2mb cache and 1066 fsb. GO.

It would be nice to see some tax credits for people who invest in some of the high ticket items like wind turbines. I'm not a hippy but being conscience about the environment isn't a bad thing like some of you make it out to be. It's almost a joke to some people.
