I have a random question that seems like it might be okay for this random thread:

I've been riding Novice at Mid-Ohio for a while now.  My question is, what is the criteria the coaches use to determine if you're ready for Intermediate?  I'm not asking because I necessarily think I'm ready, but I want to know what they look for so I can focus on those things.

Novice is still fine for me, but I do find myself getting less challenged.  I know my BP still sucks and my bike might be under-powered for Intermediate, but I'm curious about what they want to see before they move someone up.

    Thanks.

In no particular order: pace, lines, consistency, decision making.

Bike size doesnt matter, its how you ride it. I pass $20k machines on my clapped out sv650.

Edit: Mid-Ohio's novice group is very structured. You play follow the leader too much (imo). Other orgs will do that the first few laps of the first 2 sessions then let you run your pace.

Another vote for Helen GA.   Have only been to one of the German restaurants (Old Heidelberg) But it was very good, and the place that’s on the lower level near the bridge (Troll Tavern) is very good too. 👍

Been to both places and liked both. Tavern Patio has a nicer view though!

The cities are going to be in trouble. The suburbs will remain insulated.

and if shit does come into the suburbs, we’ll see how many ‘Ken commandos’ can actually shoot. There are a lot of firearms in wealthy neighborhoods...  my ex-wife’s neighbor has a PALLET of .223 in his basement. I miss Joe. He was good people.

my current neighborhood is still somewhat of an unknown. Tom next door is a super nice guy, and seems to have a good tool set. We have borrowed things from each other that suggest a degree of self-sufficiency. Not sure if he has firearms in the house.

what concerns me a bit is the number of scorned ex-wives on my street. My fiancé was one of them. She has 2-3 friends whose divorces are still pending. I am nice enough to clean the carb on their mower, use the chain saw to take down small trees for them, and generally keep them from paying for shit their ex-husbands should have been taking care of ...but i can’t be protecting multiple houses from a mob.

Have all those women come to you 😉

    the MotoAmerica coverage seems amateurish.

I think its pretty damn good considering where Motorcycle Road Racing in America is right now... basically non-existent.

    Unrelated:

I think it's funny that all those "major" sports are cancelling their season. Players that are paid more a season than the entirety of some MA team budgets combined are saying I don't wanna play.

You'll never hear that from a motorcycle racer. "Oh my arm is about to fall off? Cool good thing my 1pc suit will keep it attached. Lets go racing!"

Good hang, as usual at the race track.  Nice to meet some more of the Mosites crew and especially Eziah.  Went for a hike with Katie and Lucas Sunday morning and broached the subject of attending a YCRS event.  I'll be saving, should be able to make it happen next year.  Thanks for the push and introduction, @TimTheAzn.

You'll learn more than you know by going to one of those. I've been meaning to go for a couple years. May try and make it happen next year but also want to get a new suit and a new bike so... need to plant a money tree.
