  1. Fucking fascists, censoring that poor kid's birthday cake.
  2. that pug killed and ate me once just for walking in the door
  3. AWD - you can push further before it steps out, more shit to break RWD - when you step out, its easier to recover, and more predictable from my personal experience, going from nothing but RWD my whole life to a WRX that scared me once. Take your pick.
  4. You might also think of getting something cheap that you can throw a lot of good prep into, like proper rollcage. $20k will go much further into a focus or neon than it will a vette or bmw, although I will admit you won't look as cool or have as much power. You will learn better though when you actually have to focus on turning, rather than just stomping the gas at the end of the corner.
  5. I just assembled a bare lower last week, so yes. I still don't see why you would need to take stuff apart to the point of the springs coming out, with the exception of changing out certain parts like the grip. Maybe if you toss it in mud with the upper off and get crud in the trigger assembly, but I have no idea why you would be doing that.
  6. dealer option Jesse, the X Runner comes as an extended cab with a 4.0 V6 and 6 speed, with a dropped and stiffened suspension, extra chassis stiffening and option of a big brake kit, that Mark M. claims to be the same brakes on his Supra (as you can see in my sig on TA). They first came out in 2005. If you want to see some examples, jump on autotrader, search for 2005-current, two wheel drive V6 with a manual, all that will come up will be some prerunners (lifted two wheel drive, I've never understood this) and X Runners. They only come in red, black and bright blue. I've wanted one for years, just have never been in the financial position to do so. I haven't looked at prices lately, but last I checked on the low end they sell for around $18k used, I think around $26k new.
  7. I would think that if you are popping springs out of your AR, you did something wrong.
  8. I'll try to count it my next day off. I'll sell it to you for the going rate of 8mm, throw in the parts/fixable rifle, and you can return my gun case.
  9. if you are looking for an original stock I'll sell you my Yugo K98 and stockpile of ammo. The gun....doesn't fire so well so I don't use it, but the wood looks fine. Part of it still needs the cosmoline sucked out of it though.
  10. How do the Wilson's fare as a combat handgun? IE, will they run without issue? I always figured they were custom guns, and as such went with custom problems. One rifle, one handgun makes this difficult. I would go with my Rock Island 1911 for sure (it's been flawless, the way a USGI handgun should be) but the rifle makes it tricky. I just built an AR, so I would probably stick with that platform as ammo is easy to come by. If possible, I'd like to throw in a .308 bolt gun of whatever brand for long range hunting, as the AR would be more a close to medium range battle rifle.
  11. LOL CANCELLED Caxide, think long and hard about NYC. My sister, two stepbrothers and stepsister all moved out there years ago, so I have spent a fair amount of time there. My sister got married and they decided to GTFO and move to Miami. Their rent for a shithole one bedroom apartment in Queens was about the same as my mortgage, and their pay combined was no more than what I make on my own. They got tired of always being broke. And the weather there sucks balls. Colder and more windy than here in the winter, and humid as fuck in the summer and NO ONE HAS FUCKING AIR CONDITIONING I thought I was going to die when I went there for my sisters wedding. And don't plan on owning a car, you won't be able to afford to park it, let alone pay insurance on it. If you can't start off there at $75k+ a year, don't bother. As for me, didn't finish college, I hated it and couldn't deal with it, but ended up in a job better than most 23 year olds so whatever. But like Clay said, if there is anything crazy you want to do in life, and you can find a way to afford it, do it now before there are a wife and kids and steady job involved, otherwise you'll never be able to do it.
  12. One more thing - I'm not sure if they are still being offered or not but DONT GET A FUCKING ARM LOAN Fixed rate is the way to go, as short of a time frame as you can deal with payment wise. If you have 20% equity in the home you don't have to pay PMI. That's why you need 20% down. In the current economy, I really doubt that you will even get a loan if you don't have 20% down, but the other ways out of PMI are to do an 80/20 like I did, an 80/10/10 like Akula did, or manage to get the house for way less than it appraised for. However, i don't think PMI will be an issue because I don't think you'll be able to buy a house without enough down payment. I know that if I were in the market for a house now instead of two years ago when I bought, I wouldn't be able to buy anything.
  13. With things the way they are, better have 20% to put down, if not more. Realtor fees are paid by the seller. Closing costs can go either way, just depends on how you work it out. If you are getting a steal of a deal it will probably be up to you to pay them, but you can throw this into the mortgage. When you are ready to buy, GET A REALTOR!!! and realize there will be more expenses before you can buy the place, like required inspections, so have another $500 stashed away for that. Also, make sure that all agreements involving money are put into writing, don't trust verbal agreements.
  14. Or I can get guns that I'll actually enjoy shooting
  15. Close. I believe the equation you were looking for is Glock < *
  16. Because when people go to stores they assume the door is going to shut on its own, like every other store in the country.
  17. Who is "they?" "The Man" here you keep you down? Or do you mean the stock market investors, seeing how they are responsible for driving up oil prices?
  18. Sam's right. Everyone, please STFU about stuff that could possibly get people into more trouble. To my knowledge, no one on this board is a lawyer, so stop pretending to be. And because some people can't figure that out, I'm locking this. CR isn't as private as we all would like to think it is, so use some common fucking sense.
  19. Why does everyone on arfcom have such a hard on for larue?
