Yup. They have the same browser requirement now that they did when I started with the company well over 7 years ago. And their website interface is nearly still as shitty. Edit - just looked and its IE 6. Some stuff works in Firefox but not enough that its worth using.

My company's HR site only works right on I think ie 5, assuming it will even work then. It also requires some cache cleaner add on that never wants to install. I've never been able to log on from home in any browser.

Rule 3 kind of has something like this but its a small part of their business

will they make their prices more in line with the rest of the industry?

This is why Cheaper Than Dirt should be boycotted
copperhead replied to copperhead's topic in Dumpster
I'm amazed that either place still has any left. Considering Vance's is always dirt cheap on everything I would give them a little leeway on this one, there's a good chance their distributors are charging them more, and Gun Envy is still running old stock. -
To start, stop reposting crap all over Facebook. It turns off non-gun types faster than anything which hurts the cause. If you look like a wacko then you will be ignored or worse, push them to the other side. Besides, the best thing for us right now is for everything to blow over and be forgotten about. Most of the higher ups in the gov want nothing to do with gun control, but there are a few that will push it no matter what, mostly Diane Feinstein and the Brady Bunch. If the subject can take a back seat to things that matter to everyone, like their taxes going up in a couple weeks, then we won't have anything to worry about. In the mean time we should be quietly organizing. Firstly, join the NRA. Before deciding on gun control, most politicians that worry about getting reelected will take a look at the NRA membership numbers. They have been growing by 8,000 people a day. %20%20217.AAG&hid=4487688"]Here's a link to join for a year for $25 and get a $25 gift card to Bass Pro Shops. Secondly, you need to donate to the NRA-ILA. This is the group that actually lobbies Congress, and therefore actually needs money. You can donate here. Thirdly, the Second Amendment Foundation is the group that has been fighting for us in the courts. They are the ones who pushed to repeal the DC and Chicago handgun bans, among other things. They fight an entirely different fight than the NRA-ILA, and therefore need the help too. You can join for $15 for a year or donate here. Fourth, join the Gun Owners of America (GOA). The NRA has traditionally cared more about hunters and not so much about modern sporting rifles such as the AR platform. The GOA's goals are more inline with modern firearms and viewpoints but they don't have nearly the pull the NRA does. More people joining the GOA helps keep the NRA in check. You can join them here for $20 for a year. Fifth, keep in mind we still have to fight at home. Ohio has been improving but still has a way to go. Donate to the Buckeye Firearms Association here. Sixth, write letters. Write emails. Make phone calls. Only contact your directly elected officials. Make sure you include your name, address and phone number. If you can't vote for that person, then you are just annoying them which doesn't help us. You can find them here. Let them know (POLITELY AND COHERENTLY) at the federal level that you are very opposed to ANY gun control measures. At the state level let them know that you approve of the progress they have made and would like for them to further address things such as eliminating the 31 round magazine ban, allowing CCW reciprocity with all states, allowing out of state residents to get Ohio CCW, eliminating requirement to inform officers of CCW, eliminating dangerous gun free zones, enforcing freedom to open carry and reprimanding officers that attempt to interfere with it, and whatever other issues you guys can think up. If someone could write up some canned letters and scripts for phone calls I'll post them in here. Lastly, get your gun owning friends on board without violating number 1. Pass this on to other gun forums, I know Ohio Riders has a gun section for example. Talk to less informed gun owners about how panic buying magazines isn't helping, but for less than the price of one used USGI mag from Cheaper Than Dirt, they can actually make a difference. Instead of feeling like we have already lost we need to start a wave of momentum pushing back. We can win this fight, but only if we come across as sane and united, so can the "from my cold dead hands" or "vote from the rooftops" lines until it actually comes to that. In the mean time pray that it doesn't.

parks and bars is old news and instead of posting rumors how about you post links?

It's been non stop since early this morning, started as ice/sleet now just heavy snowfall. I'm going to go shovel the driveway so this evening its less terrible to shovel again, assuming I'm actually going to work tonight. The girlfriend was already sent home from work since Licking county is at level 2 already.

That's a drop in quad rail, should be plenty of companies that make them. Make sure its listed as carbine or car length, as that is your gas system length. I would ditch the carry handle, get a flip up rear site and whatever optics. The Magpul BAD lever can cause some guns to not lock the bolt back on an empty mag, seems to be pretty random, fyi Also, if you want a sling decide if you want a one point our two and decide where you want it attached, lots of attachment options

Do you want a free float handguard or drop in? What does it have now? If you aren't sure, post a pic of it. Cheap trigger upgrade would be an ALG ACT. If you like to shoot tucked in, get a pistol grip from http://ucwrg.com otherwise get whatever Magpul looks good to you. Also easy to swap the stock to something more comfortable, again look at Magpul

Armed guards, teachers with tasers if they volunteer to get trained on it. I don't see even Miss Feinstein having an issue with that

I didn't pay a dime in tax on the last lower I bought. Gotta love mail order. The easiest way for restrictions to get passed is to have it done little by little. If they can convince people "oh, this one little thing isn't such a big deal" then before too long they have taken everything away. The only way to not lose our rights is to dig in hard against anything they propose. Besides, what ever happened to them worrying about our country's finances spiraling towards oblivion? Does that no longer matter at all? At this point, EVERYONE is going to have higher taxes in a couple weeks, and it's the fault of everyone in DC. Nobody can point fingers on this one. It's neat how whenever the gov is fucking everyone in the ass super hard they are able to come up with something in the news to divert attention away for a while. Happens all the time. For once, reporters saw through the smoke and mirrors and asked questions about the real issues, and were immediately called out on it.

Ok I believe there is going to be another Assault Weapons ban now.

A handgun is used to fight your way back to your rifle -
Do we all need to run out and get our 30/20 round mags now?
copperhead replied to Cereal_Killer's topic in Dumpster
The time to buy was 6 months ago. Everything is now backordered to eternity -

If these petitions actually hold any power then we should be getting a Death Star before too long. I wonder who will get the contract on that one

Go to Gun Envy and buy whatever Colt they have on the wall. -
I got this mattress from Amazon about a month ago: http://www.amazon.com/LinenSpa-Viscoelastic-Mattress-25-Year-Warranty/dp/B00474X5DO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1355549531&sr=8-1&keywords=linenspa Really liking it so far, just kind of wish I would have gotten the 12" or 14" one instead. Otherwise, would recommend.

27 dead (20 children, 6 adults and shooter) in an elem school in CT
copperhead replied to starkmaster03's topic in Dumpster
This needs to happen regardless. I would like to point out that the the shooter was a 20 year old kid, therefore ineligible to purchase handguns. It's also claimed he had an AR in his car, which anymore I have trouble believing but whatever. CT's gun laws are only superseded in strength by NY and CA - they still have an assault weapons ban, so he would have had to spend some coin to get a preban model, or bring it in from out of state which I really doubt. So what I'm saying is the laws in place to keep him from getting guns did not work. Also, had he been legally declared mentally unstable he would fail any background check. -

I remember when my high school first started locking some of the doors, and stopped allowing backpacks, and started having a k9 unit at one of the doors. It felt like a prison. Of course, this was right after columbine happened. My school had three separate buildings we had to walk between so there's no way to keep that school on lock down, and I would have been rather unhappy had it been. I can see locking down an elementary school but not so much with a high school. Teens need to be able to feel a certain amount of freedom. Maybe along with having assigned cops have a panic button in every classroom. Someone hits it, all the doors in the building magnetically seal and can only be opened by someone with the correct rfid badge like many of us have to get into work. Skip the student GPS tracking and id badges and all that other silliness that just makes it feel like a prison to the kids. And also expel any kid that hits the panic button as a joke -
The finish on the rock island that I paid $350 for brand new has been just fine, great gun
-
It's a gun that nobody has in stock and people have been fighting to get ahold of for months. If I had the cash I'd be snatching it up. I'd say he's helping people out, as evidenced by Joe saying he knows THREE people trying to find one.
-
There's also a way to classify it as a smoothbore pistol but I have no clue if that one would qualify.

1/16 twist is good for .22 It's a measurement of how many inches it takes for the rifling to twist. So 1/16 means one twist in 16 inches which is a slow twist. Most AR's are either 1/7 or 1/9. 1/9 twist is good for lighter loads and 1/7 is good for heavier loads. With modern ammunition most people will say to just go with 1/7 for any .223 or 5.56, but if you were to use a .22 conversion you may have issues.
