  1. Definitely splice the wires, harnesses can be quite messy to replace considering how they're strewn all over the bike - check your stator and voltage regulator after fixing the wires to make sure they're still good
  2. :(I hate to be the downer, but I don't think paypal will refund you if the deal didn't go through ebay:(, and also would you be able to submit the texts to paypal to support your claim:confused:?
  3. Its like his bike was magnetically attracted to the tree LOL!
  4. That first point is called assault, I'm pretty sure its not legal, no call the the lawyer necessary lol
  5. We sell Kreem kits - acid & liner in one kit about $40, I used a kit on a totally trashed 95 VT1100 Ace tank and got 10 years out of it. Carbs aren't so bad, most of the time the I get by with purchasing new jets and they're usually all good from there.
  6. Let's start this lecture with the basics - your engine needs fuel, air, spark to work properly. Take each plug and put the head of the plug on an engine bolt and see if you're getting good spark (while cranking it over). If good spark then check your air filter, clogged air filter / mice nests can cause poor performance. Is there any dampness on the plug like its getting fuel? If I'm not mistaken, kawasaki finally fuel injected ZZR600s in 06+ models? Is your power commander lighting up and cycling through on start up? Changing your plugs may help, it a mystery to me why sometimes a non-fould but carboned plug refuses to work no matter if I blast it out and it looks like new, but sometimes you gotta pay a little to get the job done.
  7. I'd rather not, but I've decided to put 1 ready to go dirtbike and one of my projects up on craigslist - I've put them up here before - 88 CR500 & 88 XR600 Here's links, obviously I'll take a little off for OR members http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/1359849153.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/1359832473.html CR500 posted before http://www.ohio-riders.com/showthread.php?t=30384&highlight=cr500 XR600 right here http://www.ohio-riders.com/showthread.php?t=17376&highlight=xr600

  14. Anyone install them all around the bike w/o resistors and have them work, but after a minute they shutoff and won't come back on for a few? I'm guessing the blinker relay is set up for a different load and is heating up a little?
  15. Any small crap in the carbs could do the same thing, I usually buy new jets since they're cheap
  16. I pm'd you about the new chromed one we have $50 list, OR price $45, new kawasaki = 2 much

  19. The Derby GPR / YZ 250 kick starter, I haven't used it all that many times, just went and broke on my way back from a short test ride. What the heck?
  20. It sounds like a whole angry community of Africanized killer bees trying to escape out the exhaust. You can feel vibrations through the handlebars and footpegs. Runs like a scalded dog!
  21. Here's What I did - History - bought a 1997 Derby GPR 75 as a neat little 2 stroker just for a fun little bike. On the way to work the engine locks up - rod is one with bearing and crank pin. With pretty colors. First step - decide on a replacement engine - 250cc 2 stroke engine, water cooled. I bought a 93 YZ 250 Engine kit from ebay complete with pipe, carb, wiring harness, coil, pipe, cdi. Now here's the real work - First- I had to cut out the Derby engine cradle I purchased some 1" box tube steel, and some flat plate steel to create a custom engine cradle to build onto. I had to carefully put the engine in the cradle while I welded tabs and drilled holes to make the motor mounts. I then sprayed painted the cradle with rust resistant, heat resistant paint. I had to move the radiator, now understand this, the radiator has no fan and has significantly more cooling capacity than the YZ250 pair of rads. Given this is the case, I moved the radiator from the front / behind the front wheel to under the seat - there's ample airflow with the way its setup to help cool while moving, the size alone should be enough to take coare of the cooling while stuck in traffic - if traffic gets crazy slow, I can always kill the engine and kick it over when traffic picks up. The expansion pipe wouldn't fit with the bends the manufacturer put in it so I had to cut it in several places and weld it back together. I did my best to use gentle angles - hard angles reduce the ability for the sound waves to make it back to the ports properly at the right time and with the right force. The YZ 250 airbox wouldn't fit in the bike so I put a clamp on filter on the back. I won't be able to put lower cowls on the bike, but who cares when you stuff 5 X the engine in the thing. I'll post pix tomorrow of this mutant project as it sits today.
  22. Lol, I can't deny that, however if you're into racing its nothing to spend $10k on parts and labor to build a race engine.
