  1. This type of viewpoint isn't unknown, it's just not found widely: Henry Clark Wright Joseph Barker Henry David Thoreau Leo Tolstoy Mohandas Ghandi Ferninand Domela Nieuwenhuis Bart de Ligt Alex Comfort Paul Goodman Robert LeFevre Ammon Hennacy Dorthy Day Jean-Paul Sarte Anarcho-pacifism - Political/social change without violence Yeah, I study history a lot...Anarcho-pacifism is often a basic element of libertarian philosophies. Even the concept of a general union strike has some basis on these elements.

  5. Yeah, normally this guy is pretty good. This is the worst I think I've ever seen him doing. Especially considering the results. Wasn't one of his better days...
  6. Don't go losing your head over this... Saudis to behead joy-rider for hit-and-run incident I think they've been after this guy for a while. From what I've heard, he's been hiding out before the accident, so he wouldn't be found. His name means "he who ignores". He's sort of a folk hero in Saudi Arabia. At least with the stunting and drifting crowd. edit: part of his problems, I think, was that he had been renting cars to do the drifting stunts with. Supposedly this is the accident: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1xb6r0Aql0
  7. ^^ yup, what gixxie said. Use a chain. I've done it with just stuffing a rag, but that's a lot harder to do. edit: yes, this means finding a 530 chain to use as a tool.
  8. haha, I backed out of the driveway one night, and my passenger said "go back". They had seen somebody back in the dark at the hood of my dead van. They were trying to take the battery. Nope, the battery was inside with a charger. Bad part was I recognized him, walking away. Escaped between the houses and cut over to another block. I figured he wouldn't be back after that. Did lose a stereo at a bar one night. Saw them take off with it, in a yellow VW bug. Crap. edit: Theft by thieves should have no rights if you decide to take from them. That should be surrendered de facto to the crime, so that if you catch them you can take everything they have. Sounds fair to me.
  9. This from the Tucson Citizen makes for an interesting local viewpoint: The Truth about Roger Barnett…another side of the story It's a long read, but what it appears to be is a fight over a well known drug smuggling route into the United States. Also a route for illegal immigrants as well. And although it's turning into a national left vs right fight, the basic truth is still there. This is about getting people (local citizens) off the drug smuggling route that are in the way. This is deeply into drug cartels, paid off politicians, lots of politics, lawyers, activists, heavily armed smugglers, money and drugs. It is also about letting crime run rampant in America. Again, I say careful what you wish for... edit: one of the government agents estimated 1400 to 1500 people traveling North in this general area every night.
  10. Which Motor Oil Is Best for Engines Using E85 Fuel For E85, Mobil says to use Turbo Diesel Truck 5W-40 fully synthetic motor oil It has increased amounts of acid neutralizers. So any synthetic "turbo diesel" 5W-40? edit: water and alcohol can create formic acid in the crankcase/engine. But water isn't normally found in the oil. Haven't seen anything relating to loss of viscosity... (that makes any sense, but apparently other people have seen it happen.)
  11. Correct. It is how the cord is laid/overlapped on the carcass. One way is for front tire, and one way is for back tire. And is why some tires can go from front to back if reversed (and vice versa) . Pushing water is still true but a secondary issue. I noticed the other day that identical tread sips was reversed from front to rear on some tire brand/model. So I'm not thinking it makes much difference on a lot of tires.
  12. Last time I looked it up, it is not illegal to detain a criminal till law enforcement arrives. That would be for Columbus. Reasonable force, of course. edit: Last time I looked it up, citizen's arrest only applies to capital crimes of murder and kidnapping. Not sure though.
  13. Hahaha. Seven squidlies just pulled in w two passengers....total one helmet....
  14. Get moving if you want the dyno. About six in line right now.
  15. Try this one: http://www.kvia.com/news/Incident-in-El-Paso-tied-to-national-immigration-debate/-/391068/16072236/-/13jwlt2/-/index.html All of these are about Chris Crane. President of the national ICE council. He's been representing ICE officers. One of my friends from near the Texas - Mexico border moved up here twenty years ago, mostly because he was tired of the hassle. He had a ranch out in the boonies. Warning shots fired at one to two miles were typical. I can't imagine what it's like now.
  16. yup. iCloud hacking. That link, that guy was totally trashed. Big news really. It could have been much worse. Other changes are also taking place to prevent how easy it can be to attack Apple/Amazon accounts. It was really the combination of the two that made it easy. Oops...
  17. That's not a bad idea. No, I haven't seen anything except manual GPS on/off. But it would have to be selective. Some apps are for walking, and would just be on all almost the time anyway.
  18. Me too. Wouldn't want to be shirtless. Shooting for 1pm to 3pm.
  19. The traffic routes will vary if there is congestion on the roadways. It doesn't take much to make another route faster. Wish I was using it this week when I got stupid and got off the freeway into traffic at a standstill. Any and all GPS apps are battery hogs. I keep mine on vehicle power supply.
  20. Gosh... just found a legitimate use for a 30 round magazine... whodathunk. Should have had two clipped together for fast reload. It's called combat. Like when you are outnumbered and they want to kill you.

Frisch's added PrimeTime 1/3 lb burgers, three of them. Almost got one today, since I was stuck in traffic out front for some reason...
