  1. heheheh.... download some of the sound bytes from the book and put them on your mp3 player. I was going to post the links, but the language is too offensive for public view. (This is our president reading the dialogue...) Google up something like Obama mp3 book or Obama mp3 sound bytes These are getting hard to find, I think they are getting removed from the internetz... edit: ok, this is about the only place to find them. And the French fry quote IS THERE. Good... April Winchell

  3. Or population damage. Any large population of critters makes itself a target for other critters, large and small. I mean large populations are out of proportion in Nature, and that Nature will take care of the problem. In the case of Humans, the quick way is with an epidemic. (or zombies...)
  4. If you don't know what is wrong with trying to put up a sunshade, it's the Sun. It would just try and push that sunshade away with much force. It would be difficult to balance the pull of the Sun's gravity against the push of the Sun's output. While trying to make changes to actually regulate anything.
  5. Exactly, facts support both suppositions. Opinion: Temperatures on the Earth are regulated by the Sun, by it's effects in regulating the amounts of cosmic rays that make it past the Van Allen Belt and impact the Earth's upper atmosphere. That it turn produces more or less cloud cover, which in turn raises or lowers the Earth's temperature. This is in addition to changes in the raw output of the Sun itself. Which may or may not be a result of sunspots on the Sun. No matter what happens on Earth, it doesn't compare to a change that may or may not happen with the Sun's ability to do this. Credibility for this effect is beginning to be found in measurements of temperatures on all the planets. Which appear to indicate a rise in temperatures wherever such records are being observed. So far it's been temperatures on the Moon, Mars, Some places around Jupiter and Saturn, and even some preliminary data from out around the outer planets. So who the heck knows for sure what is going on. But so far, none of these planets are going to up and die from these changes. There was a very warm spell back in the Middle Ages. So warm that three crops were grown during the year, instead of two. The weather turned mild, without storms. Effectively, there was no Winter. Is this bad? Or is this good? Is this what will happen now? Also consider that multiple Ice Ages have occurred. And that the ocean levels have gone as high as 800 feet up and 300 feet down from what we have now. Most of these type changes take Centuries to Millenniums to occur. If we really want to regulate temperatures, we quit fooling around, and build a sunshade to put in orbit around the Sun at the Lagrange point L1 between the Earth and the Sun. It wouldn't have to be very big to regulate temperatures and adjust them downward on the Earth. It can't raise temperatures, forget about trying that.
  6. If anyone cares... 1. The record high temperatures were in 1998. World temperatures peaked that year. The annual average temperatures have been less than the records of that year. That doesn't say which way the temperatures are going in the long run, just that the current long term averages are declining. 2. I keep hearing everyone at work saying it will be a harsh Winter. So I looked it up at the gov NOAA forecasting website. They say above normal temperatures, and slightly below normal precipitation for this Winter.
  7. lol, one of the coaches on the sideline is screaming at them to pick it up and run!
  8. Yeah, after 3 weeks in Germany and Austria, I was pretty sure I wanted to spend a minimum of two months traveling around Europe on a rail pass.
  9. I'll probably be there. I want some rides in before the roads are too salty. Which could be this weekend, or not till January. Who knows.
  10. kinda like communicating in codes. Like back in school. What would be the odds that the girl named Becky would be the only other one into codes? Priceless....
  11. This vehicle is eligible for up to $50,000 in Vehicle Purchase Protection .........yeah, you'betcha!
  12. Temperatures in Brussels are about the same as here. 40F low to 50-55F high. Sunny. Temperatures in Stockholm are 30F low to 40-45F high. Slight chance of snow. Sweden likes Americans. Belgium loves Americans. Personal opinions: 1. It sounds like you aren't going to be there very long. Certainly not long enough to explore, sightsee, and have much of an experience. So pick accordingly. 2. Sweden is more difficult to get to, compared to Belgium. You may never get another chance to visit there. 3. I would choose Copenhagen over Stockholm. Just sayin'. 4. A reason to visit Stockholm: "A survey by Traveler's Digest, a US travel magazine has made a list of the cities that are home to the world's most beautiful women. Stockholm came out on top." - The Local, Sweden's news in English. 5. Stockholm is best in the Summer when it's warm. 6. Beer in Belgium will be fantastic. 7. Confused yet?
  13. Ummm, make it beef eaters, are the only ones effected? If they ate beef from certain Argentinian cattle ranches. Tie it in with genetically cross linked evolution of H1N1 and Mad Cow disease.
  14. Sounds excellent! This just on the news: Reportedly victims of H1N1 who are heavy drinkers of Mountain Dew, no longer have a heart beat. Effects vary, but at this time, no other visible symptoms are apparent. The medical community is stumped as to how these victims continue to function. edit: wait, it can't be Mountain Dew, that would take out the nerdy girl friend...
  15. And she has a nerdy girl friend who's a HALO champion who's father owns a gun store?
  16. More importantly, some factor must allow a limited few to be immune. And become... zombie killers!
  17. call me helter skelter, and assume I MIGHT show up...
  18. That's the longest ice water immersion I've ever heard of with recovery. sooo... zombie
  19. Sure, figured that to be true.
  20. 100 bucks will get you a blue windscreen. They got 13 translucent colors and two opaques. A Swedish outfit that's located in Florida now. You have to drill your own holes in the Plexiglas though. The big deal is that they can do replicas of screens for classic bikes. Plus they can bump the height of the screen up +2, +4, +6, +8. I bought a clear and an extra dark stock flyscreen. Gustafsson Plastics - bikescreen.com Lots of colors available
  21. I wonder if there will be HondaLine luggage and fairing for the new Shadow bobber... It's a bit lighter, and might have more power? Looks like a lot of fun. 3 or 4 thousand cheaper too.
  22. That's where I work. But I'd want them to set it up to be motorcycle first responder... We're special, after all...
  23. Superhawk engine in a dual sport chassis... I thought it's heavy also. Especially with only a 5 speed. Although that's a lot of parts around the tail end, for the integrated luggage. It might seem weak when loaded. Dunno, it will have to be compared to things like the BMW F800 ST. Or even some of the BMW boxers.
  24. Where are some First Responder classes? Some of us want to go. Some of us should go. Where are the classes, and is anyone willing to take them? I'll check at work this week and see if the EMT instructors do weekend classes like that.
