  1. I'll ride wit ya. Glad you're getting it. It's one of the bikes that still impresses me. Did I miss it? Are you keeping the other bike, or is it gone?
  2. I would do this if they weren't so dang tall. And 2fiddys that aren't so dang tall are so dang wimpy. Lack of power isn't an issue in the Winter, it helps stay upright. But it doesn't help when trying to get out of town to some roads. I want something to ride anytime, anywhere, all year round. I think those are called BMWs.
  3. We can insert pics using the toolbar icon (Insert Image). But the http link used with that will have to be something that is open to the public to access. I copy and save, and then load it in OR pics or PhotoBucket. Yeah, it's more work... edit: If it was a pic found on the internet, it would have worked from that. But some internet people don't like their pics used like that. So sometimes it's best to copy and save somewhere else.
  4. ummmm... Red... you're trying to post straight from an email. And that's not working. You'll have to save to something that will let you post the link. And nope, posting from your hard drive won't work either. You'll have to save in OR pics or to PhotoBucket or something. And dang, I can't even see the "red X". Shit talking

Yeah, and most of us missed it, before it was vanished, since we were working like good little kiddies, or out riding our motorcycles. Which made this all very confusing...

    Shit talking

Blake summarized in this post. Although how all went down is still a bit obscured. Followed of course, by random talk of keg-carrying ham-thighed skanky midgets on crack. http://ohio-riders.net/showpost.php?p=363466&postcount=89

I believe you, as well as any others that aren't paranoid right at this moment. Besides, you're such a serious dude, that counts.
  9. It was so nice this morning (in the dark pre-dawn even) that I was willing to ride home wet, and went ahead and rode to work. Nice of the storms to stay West of us for a while. I think I'll ride some more.
  10. Me still riding. And shall till I see the salt on the road. And if I had a cheap junker bike, I'd ride in the salt. But not the ice. It's just not fair having to put up the bike for a couple of months in Ohio. Maybe global warming will fix that, I can only hope...
  11. ummm, it was Utah, what did they expect for a response?
  12. Sure enough. Welding fumes can get you many ways. Even a couple of common chemicals under the sink can get you when mixed together. http://www.atsdr.cdc.gov/interactionprofiles/ip12.html The 2007 list of the top 275 chemicals that can harm you edit: the other common welding fatality is the cadmium plating on nuts and bolts. When vaporized and inhaled, it's often fatal. Cadmium plating is no longer allowed in aerospace usage, but it's found everywhere else.
  13. Any AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) battery of the correct model/size. Yuasa preferred $90 to $110 (OEM can be much higher) $45 to $60 for any other cheaper brand? Be aware that mail order batteries seldom can be returned. (Plus the shipping can be sky high) Shop around locally. edit: Competition Accessories in Springfield shows $87.65 on their website. Iron Pony search fails, of course. I need one next Spring. Probably either from Iron Pony or Competition Accessories. Summit Racing also sells them. People say WalMart sells some sort of brand. I haven't looked there.
  14. Looks like there is only 10 parts in the turbo assembly. I don't see a rebuild kit, maybe individual parts are ordered. You might try a heavy equipment place like Caterpillar. I found these places by searching for one of the part numbers in the assembly: http://www.turbomaster.info/eng/ http://www.northern-lights.com/ http://data.hrparts.com/ The HR Parts website looks like it's still under construction.
  15. I've gone 240 miles before low fuel light several times. And sometimes it's slow cruising, and sometimes it's WOT. Weird. Normally it's 180 miles minimum on each tankful for me, which lets me skip every other fuel stop when we are all out riding. I was surprised that so many bikes have small tanks, or use fuel so fast, or both. But what you're trying is the best way to find out. Actually run it till it stops. But what I said, running it hard or in cold weather or something, might use it up slower or faster.
  16. Ok. If you go, give a holler. I'm better today. I'm not doing much.

  17. Not many for me. I have to guess maybe 5000. All my fuel/mileage data was on a PDA that ran it's battery down and wiped all the data out. boo hoo.
  18. I'm standing by, waiting to hear if you want me to run up to QSL today. Weds 28th. To drop off the "waitress apron" for your costume. But try to let me know before 4pm, so I got time to get there. I might stay a while, but I still got the cold a little bit.

  19. I watched NASA TV live feed on one screen, and SpaceFlight Now feed on the other. Two minutes delay on the NASA TV feed. So I saw it launch twice "live". Conspiracy theorists feel free to comment...
  20. good question, tough call. I caught a cold and stayed home today. I think I caught it up there at QSL, ha. I'm always up for a ride though. I'll be at work till at least 3-3:30pm.
  21. Shoot, I should have left it in the Jeep. I was cleaning house and moving stuff into strange locations. I found it. I got two or three, actually. Dunno. One is from when I worked in a campus bar, long time ago.
  22. Mmmmm, FireBlade... My 919 is a detuned FireBlade, yours has 60 extra horsepower, heh. Mine is scary enough, yours is the real thing. Slipper clutch stock or optional? edit: oh and +1 on the Ventura gear
