Caution advised lifting or lowering bikes. I've hurt my back muscles nicely a couple of times. Not lifting motorcycles, but trying to lower them out of the back of a van. I always forget it's just as hard to do as loading them, and accidentally use the back instead of the legs. Do not use the back muscles.

I found and like the MountGuys stuff. Looked like good prices. I have a 2nd GPS, a refurb TomTom 130. Cheap. So I got a cheap mount. A MountGuys custom mount $19.88 I wanted the fancy all weather mount, but it's nearly twice the cost of the refurb TomTom. Not going to happen. The all weather mounts allow pushing all the buttons on the device. And allow power from the bike options. I don't see mounts for the HTC Fuze specifically. But I see some that look like the one you've found on Amazon. I guess MountGuys is a good place for motorcycle TomTom mounts.

I like anything around 3 times my own body weight. That handles well for me. Less weight handles faster. Fuel injection, if you're looking for state-of-the-art. High compression bike, if you want high power to weight ratio. Really, you need to sit on them to find your comfort zone. Coming from a cruiser, you might even want to go with a sport-touring bike. Other than that, will you be comfortable starting out on a bike that can do sub 12 second in the quarter mile? You'll have to be cautious about where and when you use max wide open throttle. And be aware that the front wheel comes up easily on the higher horsepower/weight ratio bikes.

At some point you have to question what your time is worth in messing with it. That and whether you wanted to go get a newer laptop anytime soon. The cheapest way out might be getting another dead or used laptop for parts. I kind of like the "wire with plug" sticking out the back. It would be so unique. But still a lot of work getting it done.

It depends on the model and the style of plug mounted on the system board. If it's on the system board, it would have to be re-soldered, or soldered off and and a new one put on. Finding a board mounted plug that fits and works can sometimes be difficult. Anything else is easier, if it's a separate part or on a separate assembly board. Easiest way to tell, is an estimate, or info from the internet. Or look up the parts and disassembly manual on line at DELL. Some places will say system board has to be replaced. Sometimes requires gutting the part from another dead board. Other people will solder in an extension pigtail for the plug. So I guess it varies a lot, but it can be done on the cheap if it has to. DELL Inspiron 1150 Manuals I looked at the manual, and it appears to be one of the "little metal box" type connectors, on the system board. It's a bit hard to tell looking at the grainy pictures in the manual. I've not had much luck finding replacements for those.

I haven't done the kickstand error for decades, lucky me. But I did try to put it down without looking first, and saw too late that I was putting the kickstand down in a pothole in the parking lot. Yeah, it leaned WAY over, but I slammed it with my leg and stopped it. Lifting it from that position was a bit awkward...

Yup, probably. But not necessarily bad enough to prevent power or charging. So you are saying it won't run on AC power with the battery both installed and not installed? When in doubt, I always go straight to a known good battery and see what I get with that. I also try a known good AC power supply if one is around. I don't have any of that type battery, sorry.

argh, I used to be able to reach across the bike to the down side handle bar, and just jerk it upright. Even on a Harley full size monster. I really doubt I can still do that. Be very careful to use your legs and not your back when you try to lift things. And yes, we're proud of you.

Plug the AC power with the battery installed, and hope the battery charges up after a while. It's not typical, but I've had a couple of laptops in for repair that had terminally dead batteries. Those would not start with the battery in, on AC power. I removed the battery, and they would start on AC power. Some of the newer laptops have a separate cheap part for the power plug inside the laptop. Saves the system board from damage if it's dropped on that plug. Cheap part, but sometimes not so easy to replace.

Some will, and some won't. I'd say most will work on AC power with the battery removed. edit:Specifically, some laptops will not work on AC with the battery installed, if the battery is really dead. Take the battery out, and find out if it runs on AC power only. Normally laptops will try to work with the battery installed, with or without the AC power. That's their job, heh?

Why even show the SSID? Most people won't be able to deal with that. Makes it more interesting, seeing who does... Made me think, just edited hosts file to kill the redirects on my test machine. Was getting tired of that...
