  1. Looking at one on line place that has what is now considered a "decent" price, and realizing 22lr peaked at a 440% price increase... edit: plus shipping, which can be 9 bucks to 35 bucks. almost a 400% range...
  2. They said the bike and rider were ok, but also said one person transported to hospital. Still no clue...
  3. Yes, I've seen .40cal everywhere. Lots of it around if anyone wants it. Don't know if any of the prices are great.
  4. Still finding stuff at about 8 to 12 cents a round, but have to be quick. Scored a brick of Norma TAC, a brick of Federal Target, and 200 Remington to burn off. I have seen prices still set at 3 to 6 cents a round, but do not ever see it for sale. And if it was, I'm too late getting there. I'm only looking for 40gr high velocity now. RN or HP, in 22LR. edit: well, always on the lookout for decent 44s&w or 45colt.
  5. Not sure how to explain this. Maybe half a clue, but not many details. Guess I'm waiting to see what youse guys (and gals) come up with. http://photos.imageevent.com/motorbiker/newspics5/Crashed-Motorcycle-on-car-roof.jpg
  6. well hello new prices for 22LR. Will be lucky to find anything at all. Minimum price about 10 cents a round. And it goes fast, real fast. But noticed one type of 22LR available at Gander for 50 cents a round. No thank you.
  7. lol, it is what it is... you choose the speed you wish to go spat at... choose wisely
  8. Gasp, another industry threatened with extinction by technological advancement. Ok by me, the only problem I see is technology is advancing faster than humans can keep up with it. All hail our new overlords.
  9. I like the Ken Onion designs. But haven't seen any of the titanium rainbow stuff look like the photos when seen in real life. Too bad. edit: I think I even mail ordered one, and wasn't too excited. Hard to remember sometimes, heh...
  10. Yes, not based on anything human, and assuming certain characteristics of alien, would not be alien either. Totally artificial, it could be anything or something else all together. A complete unknown. Dangerous territory, don't let it loose.
  11. My 919 has way more miles on original clutch. But it did get funky a couple of years ago. Eventually noticed the clutch lever was near impossible to pull in. The cable was crapped up. Replaced clutch cable and it was normal again. If I adjust it wrong, it will try to slip or stick in gear. One or the other. edit: I've read that the 919 clutch and gears are nearly bullet proof. And compared to other bikes I've seen, I'd have to agree.
  12. orange hat this need A few years back a handgun hunter hit a kid the same way. But the kids were messing with him pretending to be groundhogs. Bad mistake all around.
  13. who knows, maybe they've never seen one before
  14. Mostly for European motorcycles, but fun to go and see what is there. Twice a month - 2nd and 4th Tuesday - street parking reserved for motorcycles http://www.eurobikenight.com/ https://www.facebook.com/eurobikenight http://www.thisweeknews.com/content/stories/grandview/news/2013/06/04/euro-bike-night-vroom-with-a-view.html http://eurobikenight.wordpress.com/ edit: my 919 is popular in Europe, so it might fit in there. (Japanese but made in Italy)
  15. Just happened to remember... a few years ago, I saw one of these specialized camera units rolling through a parking lot checking all the plates. Not quite sure why it was doing that. Wasn't an ordinary black and white, it was something else.
  16. I've seen lots of cheap funky gauges. Replace the gauge or recalibrate it. Even if it's just putting new markings on the gauge. I've not had problems with Amazon, but I am cautious about who and where the item is coming from.
  17. Yup, auto scanning cameras reading all the plates. I watched one in front of me, alert on another car. Those scanning cameras were hidden on freeways years ago, to check all traffic passing. Scanning cars on freeways seems weird. But on a patrol car it seems like a good idea.
  18. I tried a little ride with a missing cotter pin once. Bad idea. Lost the castle nut and dropped the strut off for the rear brake drum assembly. Spun the assembly when I hit the brakes. Destroyed the assembly and cable. Almost ate the back end of a car. edit: Yeah, safety wire works. So does a chunk of coat hanger.
  19. I saw that some other company now has the name Bagster in the USA. A trash collection service company. I suspect they somehow lost the rights to the name. Perhaps they will be back under a new name. edit: You do want some tilt for holding a gps device. Otherwise, sitting flat, the image will keep flipping sideways all the time. Really annoying. edit: One more thing. You can still order stuff like this from Great Britain. It's tricky finding it and figuring out which one is cheapest price and shipping. That's if they will ship to USA. Some won't do that. Forget ordering from France. I've found price and shipping from France to be way too high. Germany isn't too bad, if you can find a website in English (or read German).
  20. Bagster tank cover with clip in Bagster bags. Got one small and one medium expandable, with map window. Sadly, Bagster is no longer available in the USA.
  21. Don't forget new stiffer valve springs, to limit float and bounce. Otherwise the high rpm gains might not work as well. Don't have to, but it's an option. As well as larger valves too (if possible). And then there's the rejetting the carbs. In your case, you could simply swap back if you didn't like it, if you did only the cam. Having done a few cam swaps, I wouldn't bother with it either. Not unless it needed a cam in the first place. I spent too much time tinkering with it. And the power band was pushed up too high in rpms. It was rough on the engine. I like low/middle end torque cams now.
  22. lol, actually everything that Boeing does is technically a spinoff of the B-17.... just sayin'
  23. haha, she turns it, and he's got a finger over the lens.... durrrr
