Yup, and maybe a better count, listing only a single interpretation of homicide. Each country defines differently. Wondering if murders are mostly a major urban thing, but that's where the people are anyway. Maybe murder is a density of population thing.

But, a quick look at populations vs numbers per capita, it looks like the Australian murder rate is twice as high as the US... statistics can get really twisted, dunno...

duh, just remembered. Bought hipoint from neighbor's son for cheap (under 100). Never even fired it, nor want to. Favorite is a pocket full of Bauer 25acp, bought back in the 80s & 90s for 25-40 bucks each. Also a pair of Sears catalog style 38S&W revolvers from the 1900-1920 Chicago era. Cheap, broken, repairable, but nice to look at a bit of history.

Me too. Almost went for the M1 carbine in 9mm. Wasn't sure about the manufacturer. But will let the demand drop a bit first, plus on the chance that Ruger releases either a 10mm or 45acp carbine. I would like to see that.

Yeah, like I said, I see all different statistics. The UK data I looked at was 5 years newer. Both countries had serious declines in totals during that time frame. Noticed that UK appears to be 4 times lower than the US. Also noticed that difference is .03 of one percent per capita. Statistics will do whatever you want them to do. Some include suicides. Or firearms only. Or include shootings by law enforcement in the line of duty. Or do so for one and not the other. Those details are hidden. The noticeable trend, is to push an agenda with modified statistics, that is about 8 times worse than it really is. So back to where I started, not believing most statistics.

Well yeah, in the Grande Cherokee. New to the new Wrangler, they had to stretch the chassis/frame to get it to fit. Should be ok. It's a German design, if I remember right. Less moving parts than other 8 speeds.

I hear a lot of stats about Canada, UK and Australia. But when I look it up, it's seldom true. Looked the UK up recently, and their murder rate was about the same as ours (per capita), at the time of their firearms ban. It then went up for a decade or so, as high as a 70% increase for a while. Now back where it was. Knife attacks and common crime is out of control in places like London. So no, UK is the same or worse regardless of restrictive laws. And no idea why murders jumped higher for a while. Australia confiscated, but admitted only a fraction of the known weapons were turned in (nor the unknown weapons). You could see in photos, a lot of it was pure junk. Have also heard new firearms sales tripled the amount that was taken away. And yes, their crime stats jumped for a while also. Odd, because some cities can have success, but an entire country is difficult. But not all of them, as in Chicago. Never even bothered looking up much about Canada, it's just not the same.

I did wonder about the age brackets of shooters, and if a raised age limit for certain firearms would work. Apparently other people wonder the same thing. Also noticed Ann Coulter sees that 47% of mass shooters are 1st or 2nd generation immigrants. Doesn't even count gang member actions, or "ordinary murders". That percentage is too high. Deal with it.

My experience is that it was likely that a search was current, for a vehicle that looks like the one you were driving. Meaning they had only a vehicle description, with no license plate data. They will stop them all, and collect data. Sort of a process of elimination. This can go on for months.

Not a problem. It was a valid question. And no, I don't know everything. Took me 40 years to learn a really good two handed grip.

I've practiced one handed, both left and right, several styles, two handed, both left and right, several styles, sideways, upside down (really, who knows if it will fire upside down, I had one cheap pistol toss the slide off doing that, one shot and I was done), and even rolling across the ground. Personal preference is Weaver stance on strong hand. My last training scenario caught me off guard and not ready, used radio as a shield and brace, went nearly prone, and returned fire one handed. A sloppy 4 of 4. It happens. Also prefer point shoot, with a ton of practice, for it's quickness. Practice for me used to be 500 to 600+ 22lr to warm up, maybe 300-400 38sp target reloads, and couple hundred 45acp target reloads. Modified a Colt Commander so it would feed cheap lead semi-wadcutters flawlessly. Don't laugh, those expand to around .75 to .80 inch. But yeah, practice good form first, which is two hand control. Much more accurate. Just be aware that you might have your other hand busy, and be forced to deal with it. Last range time we were required to draw and return fire weak hand. Don't shoot yourself doing that. And no, I haven't practiced at all lately. I need to chose a few ranges down here in Florida and get busy.

Let's put it this way. I can fire 357 magnum ok, but 38sp +P in a 38 revolver that isn't much lighter is a waste of my time. It shoots way too high and tries to twist out of my hand (one hand shooting). So my impressions of +P isn't real great. On the other hand, I load 45acp to the absolute max, just shy of overpressure & flatten the primer, and I'm completely ok with that. The weight of the pistol / revolver has a lot to do with this. And yeah, the strength of the shooter's grip. (And a in little part the shape and design of the weapon.) So find what ammo works for you and yours, with what you want to carry.

I had to look it up... I guess the Buffalo Bore is ok with an LCP II. Ruger did not want it used in the LCP I. Most 380acp won't or can't handle the 380acp +P. Beretta Pico was supposedly designed for 380acp +P. I'd say, that if the recoil spring is so stout you can barely pull the slide back, then yes, it was designed for +P ammo. And no, I haven't tried the 380+P ammo yet, I suppose I should. So, +P is ok for breaking in firearms that can handle it, and ok for defensive carry, if the felt recoil is acceptable, and you can stay on target. Most of your practice will be with cheaper, lighter, ammo. I've seen light 380s kick harder than a slightly bigger 9mm, using standard ammo. So I'm expecting the little LCP II and Beretta Pico will kick pretty hard, with or without +P ammo.

Yup, politicians strive for votes, which guides their media narrative. If it doesn't match their policy and platform, they do one and say the other, and blame it on the other party. Both parties do this, to varying degrees, depending on their desperation. Must see through the smoke screen, looking for the hidden agendas. And current media "foaming at the mouth hysteria" really doesn't help any at all. Throw in excessive lobbying of Congress, and the average American just isn't represented very well, and has almost no means of finding factual information. No one argues that DC is not a swamp pit, except career politicians and their kin.

Mostly I see neurotic and psychotic behavior. I read once that just living in a big city will give you an average of three neuroses. None of my friends, co-workers, or even acquaintances act this way, no matter what color or tribe they belong to. Neither racist nor accuser of racism. One is no better than the other, when distributed without factual deliberation. So basically, I don't know where they all come from. Although there's a strong suspicion that this behavior is taught in schools and universities. On the other hand, some of the worst racism I've ever seen, was a group of kids from the Middle East, that thought they saw a Jewish kid.

Yeah, I edited that to say double-action triggers. My single-action Rugers are quite normal trigger pull.

No favorite yet, but the Pico is really tiny, and the Nano is about the smallest 9mm. The Nano also has no safeties and no slide lock, it's a stripped down and rounded corners double action only. Yes, a lot of differences between the LCP I and LCP II. Point would be you can still get either one, and the LCP I has a bargain price. At this point I prefer the older LCP I, without much of any reasons other than I don't like the new trigger. Have heard many people warn about the double-action trigger pull on Rugers. Easy to short stroke the reset for next shot. Apparently no click or good feel that it has reset. Must fully release trigger to be sure. Not really a big deal. Now looking for a S&W 5-shot J-frame 38, because I'm an old fart.

Fridges icing up, it takes water to make ice. I've found clogged drains from the moisture drip tray can cause it. Have fixed that a couple of times to clear up excess icing and temperature problems. Used either compressed air or vacuum on the drain line. Dunno if it applies to any particular fridge, but it was a cheap fix for me.
