  1. Here is the posting http://tinyurl.com/przceou This is for an entry level position on IT helpdesk for the Ohio State Highway Patrol. This is currently posted as 1st shift 7a-3p. Pay starts @ $21.77 then $23.85 after 6 months probation. The pay is non-negotiable. Things you must be able to have / pass Must have some sot of IT cert, or associates level degree (CCNA, A+, Net +, MCP etc). They pretty much screen out if you don't have one. - They want motivated people to move up, not sit stagnent for 30 years. Must be able to pass a background check. (They went all the way back to elementary school for mine) Must be able to pass a polygraph test. (This is where most applicants fail - Just tell the truth!) Here's the breakdown of the actual job It's a 24/7 call center. So expect to work weekends, holidays, and random times to cover other shifts. There are only three people that work on a shift. So every 3rd weekend you work by yourself. Two people are required on 1st shift, so you don't get a whole lot of time off. Supervisor does his best with what hes got. But don't expect a whole lot. Just being honest. It's a technical job that's not super technical. 80% law 20% tech. Most of the calls are password or application related. Every now an again you'll get a call about what NCIC offense code to use in a certain event. After a while you should be able to rattle that off the top of your head. There is a lot of law knowledge you are required to learn and certify in every 2 years. They deal with ATT exclusivley for point to point network connectivity. So know how to look at a router/switch/firewall. Basic level 2 viewing ability. They support all Criminal Justice agencies throughout the state that use LEADS. As I said earlier, they want people that will move up. So even if it doesn't sound awesome for you, the next opportunity might. Most everyone that works in a higher level started on the helpdesk. If you have any questions let me know, I will answer them honestly.
  2. So mods dont add value? But mods can close thread if wanted? Im so confused...
  3. Put your ass on more seats. I'm sure you will find something more comfortable, that costs less money.
  4. Yup, it was a good day. Just a little brisk to wake up to in the morning.
  5. My wife and I dont get into the hallmark holidays much. Every now and then I'll get her some flowers. This year I bought her flowers for vday. Paid for 18, got 36 with 2 vases. Im gonna count that as a win.
  6. I assume the banquet is being held at the Lake park pavillion. Lake park has a campground. http://www.coshoctonlakepark.com/campground.htm
  7. Hrmmm.....interesting... As a mod, I don't have the ability to change your name either. I can change just about everything else. The steps that Jack listed are indeed the correct steps to be taken to change your name. Just for haha's what options do you have under your settings as a non supporter? Hellmutt, you as well, what do you have under your settings menu as a supporter?
  8. Wow, that was freaking quick. It took 7 weeks for my 2 to ship.
  9. While I like alot of those roads... That's too much saddle time for some folks. The current route we have requires 1 gas stop after the start. This would require at least 3, plus a stop for food. Cuz fatty ain't about to ride that long without nurishment. I can't this one to load, so I can't see the route. I see arby's.
  10. Damnit! Why does it have to be only honda...curse you Kawasaki
  11. hrmm. Might be able to make it out after I get off of work. If I'm still working weekends by that date. I'll throw it on my calendar.
  12. Been looking for something to mount my gopro to... Damnit gump, I feel another expensive ass hobby is in the future
  13. Also what I use. Don't have a mount for anything, just store my cell in my stoarge area. Charges my cell pretty well.
  14. I have one of these: Bulldog BD4020 Magnum LED Vault Picked it up at Cabelas for around $120. I have it bolted down under my nightstand to the wall and the floor. Currently has most of my handgun ammo, 1 full sized handgun, 2 subcompacts, and important documents. It acutally has quite alot of space. Spring loaded front door after 4 digit key code, also has manual key. You can turn off the key sounds as well. To me the bulldog has a better build quality than a gunvault. Heavier guage steel. Not as easy to pry open.Although the 2nd level tray is kinda flimsy until you put wieght on it. The only thing I don't like is that you actullay have to hit the "wake" button before you can hit the buttons to unlock. The LED light pretty much sucks too.
  15. I believe Indiana beat an SEC team as well...
  16. Received a Nickel S&W .44 Mag model 29-3 from my grandmothers cousin. He said I was the only one in the family that could appreciate it, and not sell it for money. Pretty good condition considering it's older than I am. He was pretty excited to give it to me. Haven't had a chance to make it to the range just yet.
  17. Infant body found in a bag in Big Walnut Creek ABC 6 was reporting at noon. Confirmed missing infant Found by CPD mounted unit http://www.abc6onyourside.com/news/features/top-stories/stories/Dive-Teams-Find-Toddler-Body-Believe-to-be-Cameron-Beckford-66224.shtml
  18. Hopefully he turns that shit team up north back into a competitor from a doormat. BIG 10 in general needs to up it's game.
  19. You will need to contact Casper directly. As I dont believe the MODS have that ability.
  20. I hate promotional assessment tests that have nothing to do with the actual job.
